When MJF & Adam Cole went to a 30 minute time limit draw on AEW Dynamite, MJF initially refused the call for five more minutes. Cole had him beat, and was about to earn a title match.

Instead, they would be put into a tag team for the Blind Draw Eliminator Tournament, and forced to co-exist. They would do more than just co-exist, they bonded and became an incredible tag team – winning the whole tournament… but falling short against the AEW World Tag Team Champions.

MJF would save Adam Cole from the Shatter Machine, only to take it himself and lead to defeat. MJF took this loss hard, having let down the first true friend he’s made in AEW – but knew a way to make things right.

He would offer Adam Cole a title match, in Wembley Stadium – the main event of All In. Earlier tonight, they started the show winning the ROH World Tag Team Championships – and now they close the biggest show in professional wrestling history.

Better Than You BayBay Prepare To Close Out The Biggest Show In Professional Wrestling History

Well known for his love of video games, Cole would pull out gear inspired by Handsome Jack from the Borderlands series for this monumental match. Starting the match, both men would leave the ring and put on their Better Than You BayBay shirts on – showing they’re ready for a fair fight.

Cole would shove MJF off the ropes and hit the shoulder tackle before the side headlock takeover. MJF would get the headscissor counter, before Cole sprung back up to his feet.

Cole would suckered into a handshake, only for MJF to poke him in the eyes. MJF would take a hard slap to the face, and Cole was now serious.

A pump kick would land, before the jumping enziguri – and hit the Ushigoroshi. MJF would be taken into a rear chinlock in the middle of the ring. Cole would lose control of MJF, and yank him to down the mat by his hair. MJF would follow suit, yanking Cole down – ready to play dirty with his friend if that is what he needs to do.

Cole was sent to the floor, and MJF considered a dive – but wasn’t ready. MJF would take a second too long to think about this, and took a Superkick. Cole would rip the shirt off MJF and throw it to the side, and now MJF was truly mad. MJF would have his eyes raked, before Cole tuned up the band in the corner for a superkick – but MJF blocked.

A back elbow and scoop slam would follow, before MJF bashed the head of Cole into the corner before some downward mounted punches and a big bite. Cole was sent to the floor, and MJF would not hesitate – nailing the dive, to the glee of the 81,000 fans in attendance.

MJF & Adam Cole Go To A Draw After The Double Clothesline

Back into the ring, MJF would stomp on the left arm of Cole before trying for the Sunset Flip – and would trade control of the pinfall with Cole – with neither man scoring the victory.

MJF would hit a powerbomb onto his knee, and scored a near fall on Cole. Trying to take a page from Cole’s playbook, MJF would try for the Panama Sunrise, but took a Superkick.

He’d roll to the apron, and Cole would hit MJF’s signature Heatseeker Piledriver for a near fall – MJF saved by the ropes. Cole took MJF to the floor and drove him into the steel steps, before hitting a High Angle Brainbuster on MJF.

The champion would retain on a count out, but MJF made it back into the ring – determined to prove who was better tonight, not to take the easy way out.

Cole would mount the ropes for the Panama Sunrise, but MJF was able to avoid this. Taking the fight to the floor, MJF put Cole on the announce table – and said to himself “You need to do this for the championship Max” and tried to hit the Tombstone. MJF couldn’t do it, but Cole didn’t have second thoughts as he hit the Tombstone on MJF.

Back in the ring, MJF was barely able to get on his hand and knees – but found his second wind and nailed the Canadian Destroyer on MJF.

Cole & MJF would fight to their feet, and called for the Double Clothesline. Both men collided in the middle of the ring with the clothesline, landing in a double pin… for a draw.

The referee did his job, and the match was deemed a draw. Cole took the microphone, and said there is no way this match ends like this. They need five more minutes.

    Sudden Death In Wembley Stadium

MJF would deny the request for five more minutes. Five minutes isn’t enough. We’re going until we have a winner at Wembley.

Cole would go for a roll up, and MJF kicked out – knocking the referee down. Grabbing a steel chair from ringside, Cole & MJF would play hot potato with a steel chair.

Cole would lay down, and MJF was one step ahead – wrapping the chair around his neck and laying down. MJF used this to get a roll up, before a superkick and the Heatseeker for a near fall.

On the apron, Cole would hit the Straight Jacket German Suplex – sending MJF to the floor. He’d rise right into the Panama Sunrise on the floor, with Cole jumping off the apron.

Rolling MJF into the ring, Cole went for the pinfall – but there was enough time to recover. Another Panama Sunrise attempt in the ring would see Cole get the referee instead.

While Cole processed the mistake he made, MJF armed himself with the Dynamite Diamond Ring. Roderick Strong hit the ring and nailed MJF with a low blow – ensuring MJF couldn’t use the ring.

Cole hit the Panama Sunrise and The Boom – and the referee revived to count a two count – too groggy to make a normal speed count. Strong slid the championship into the ring, and Cole was ready to use it – taking off the Better Than You BayBay shirt – but he couldn’t do it.

Strong went to the back, and MJF would catch Cole with a tight inside cradle – pinning him for the pinfall victory. Cole made the choice at the end, and it cost him the AEW World Heavyweight Championship. No good deed goes unpunished.

The Friendship Survives A Hard Night

After the bell, MJF tried to comfort Cole – saying that they can still be friends. He’d hand Cole his ROH World Tag Team Championship – and Cole threw it aside. MJF would snap, saying that Cole was never a true friend. All he cared about was the AEW World Championship.

MJF would throw the belt at Cole, telling him to take it. He turned his back, and wanted Cole to just do it. Smash him in the back of the head with the belt.

Roderick Strong would urge Cole to do it, and he considered it… before dropping the belt. He would hug MJF, and their friendship survived one incredibly intense match.

It would be announced after the main event that on Sunday, August 25h, 2024 – AEW is returning to Wembley Stadium. All In will return, and AEW will be ready to break this years record themselves.
