Rey Fenix was recently injured by Jon Moxley – causing him to miss AEW All In. Tonight, Fenix makes his return and his AEW Collision debut.
Fenix has a lot of aggression to let out – and tonight, will face Angelico in singles action. Angelico is from South Africa but was trained in Mexico – ensuring he knows the lucha style well.
Rey Fenix Makes Return From Injury
Angelico would be dropped with a big dropkick, rolling out to the floor. The other half of Spanish Announce Project, Serpentico would be in the corner of Angelico – and would get in the face of Fenix after Angelico was dropped with a suicide dive. Back in the ring, Angelico would hit a Tilt-A-Whirl Backbreaker, but was unable to keep control.
An armdrag would set up a double stomp – before the frog splash for a two count. Serpentico tried to run a distraction, only for Fenix to hit a Rope Walk PK. Angelico was dropped with the Fenix Driver – and this match was over. Fenix was dominant – and could be eyeing Jon Moxley for the upcoming Dynamite in Moxley’s home town.
Join The Dark Order
Dark Order have been needing to find themselves for a while, and their recent actions at AEW All Out – showed the edge they’ve been lacking since the death of Brodie Lee. They would have an advertisement tonight, saying that fans wanting to be part of something don’t need to buy AEW merch.
All you need to do to belong to something bigger is join them. Join The Dark Order. You mean something to Evil Uno, Alex Reynolds, and John Silver- and they’re waiting for you. Join the right side, the good guys.
Roderick Strong Tries To Pick Off An Injured Darby Allin
Roderick Strong feels the only way to break the spell MJF has over Adam Cole is to take the AEW World Championship for himself.
This would drive him to enter the Grand Slam Eliminator Tournament – and defeated Trent Beretta on Dynamite. Now, in the semi-finals he meets 3 time TNT Champion Darby Allin – who is working hurt, after being mauled by Luchasaurus at All Out and trading hard blows with Nick Wayne on Dynamite to make the semi-finals himself.
While skateboarding to the ring, Allin was caught by Luchasaurus. Christian Cage would say that as long as he’s in AEW, Allin will never hold another championship.
Allin was thrown head first into a loading door – and Roderick Strong would watch from the ring, celebrating a win by forfeit.
Allin would stumble to the ring – with Nick Wayne hyping him up. As soon as he hit the ring, Strong would quickly hit a backbreaker.
Allin managed to send Strong to the floor, before the cannonball senton to the floor. Back in the ring, Strong would hit a gutbuster before another backbreaker – showing why he’s The Messiah Of The Backbreaker.
The double knee gutbuster might have ended the match – but Allin used his foot for a rope break. Taking the fight to the floor, Strong would use the ring post for another backbreaker.
Allin would get a chokehold through the ropes, before a roll up for a two count. The next backbreaker was blocked into a Crucifix Pinfall, before a Code Red for a near fall.
Advancing To The Finals
Strong would set up a superplex, but Allin would refuse to go down without a fight. He’d scratch the back and gouge the eyes, sending Strong to the mat.
Coffin Drop was planned – but Strong recovered and shoved Allin onto the turnbuckle. Strong would drop Allin onto the top rope with the backbreaker, sending Allin tumbling to the floor.
Allin was able to get into the ring, but was locked in the Strong Hold. The damage to the back would not be enough – and Allin got the bottom rope. Strong would hit some stiff chops, before being driven into the corner.
Allin would try for the Coffin Splash, but Strong got his knees up. Strong would be sent to the floor, and Allin hit the Coffin Drop – before The Kingdom would get in his face. Nick Wayne was joined by AR Fox, but an argument broke out.
Back in the ring, Allin was hit the Sick Kick and End of Heartache was next. Allin was able to block with the Scorpion Death Drop for a near fall. With Fox & Wayne cheering him on, Allin would use the corner to get back to his feet.
The Kingdom would get involved, causing Fox to dive on Wayne. Coffin Drop was blocked in the ring before Strong hit the End of Heartache for the win. After the bell, Matt Taven quickly put Strong’s neckbrace back on.
