Despite meeting GUNTHER one on one, Roderick Strong is still standing. The Creed Brothers are also still in the running for the 2022 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, and are looking forward to meeting the NXT Tag Team Champions- Fabian Aichner & Marcel Bartel. Tonight, in six man tag team action – Strong gets another crack at GUNTHER, and The Creed Brothers get a chance to grapple with Aichner & Bartel. It’s Diamond Mine vs. Imperium to kick off NXT!
Roderick Strong Eats The Boot Of GUNTHER Before The Bell
There was a loud ‘WALTER’ chant, but commentary stuck with the story that he’s now GUNTHER. Diamond Mine had Malcolm Bivens still barking insults on his way to the ring – but Strong took a boot to the jaw before the bell even rang. Brutus Creed would start alongside Aichner, and matched him in power and nailed a huge Gutwrench Suplex.
A tag to Julius saw Aicher stomped into the corner, with a quick tag to Brutus following as they seeked to cut the ring in half. Aichner would power out however, catching Brutus with a Rolling Fireman’s Carry. Bartel would tag in and grab an armbar, and hold on through an arm drag attempt.
Brutus would finally slam his way free, and got Julius in – but nailed a stiff knee strike to the midsection before leaving the ring. Bartel would stay in the fight and nail a huge PK, before a quick suplex and diving uppercut for a two count. GUNTHER finally tagged in, and nailed one of his signature chest splitting chops. Julius would take a scoop slam and get a stiff stomp, before Bartel got back into the match.
GUNTHER Wins The Day For Imperium
Roderick Strong was finally back on the apron, and Julius got him into the match. Strong rushed down Aichner and nailed one of his classic backbreakers before an elbow to the face of GUNTHER. Aichner was on the ropes and took two elbows to the head, before GUNTHER tagged in and nailed him with a massive lariat.
Throughout the picture-in-picture break, Strong would find himself isolated by the power of Imperium. GUNTHER got many heavy blows in, and it was looking bad for Diamond Mine. Strong would find his chance to make a tag, and The Creed Brothers would work together as Julius suplexed Brutus onto Aichner. A double spinebuster got a two count, before GUNTHER hit a chop to the back of the neck.
He’d tag in alongside Strong, and they’d trade chops in the middle of the ring – with Strong able to drop GUNTHER with a Sick Kick. Aichner & Bartel would take out Strong on the outside, with Julius close behind. Brutus would be left alone with GUNTHER, and trapped into a Sleeper Hold. He’d break free, but took a chop to the chest and a powerbomb, ending this one with Imperium standing tall.
