It’s been a while since Sarray left the United States to regroup. She came into WWE with a lot of promise, enough potential to be the next Asuka or Io Shirai – but ultimately fell short of expectations. A trip to her homeland of Japan has revitalised her – and now she’s ready to make a second first impression in NXT.
Pete Dunne Wants A Steel Cage Match, The Warrior Of The Sun Is Back In NXT
Before this match, we’d hear from Pete Dunne. Last week, he cost Tony D’Angelo a shot at the NXT North American Championship – cracking him with a cricket bat right on the hand. D’Angelo thought that he was done with Dunne, but that’s far from the case. He would get challenged to a match by Dunne, specifically a steel cage match.
She was looking better than ever, and offered a handshake to Kayla Inlay only for her hand to be slapped away. Sarray would fight out of a wrist lock, and was able to nail a slick arm drag. Inlay would be flung around the ring with ease, before dodging a charge in the corner.
Sarray would take some shoulder thrusts in the corner, and during a waist-lock. We’d get an update from backstage, with Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne missing after Kay Lee Ray abducted her. Sarray would set up the Sunray Dropkick and nailed all of it, before nailing the exploder suplex for the win.
Cameron Grimes Is Ready For Carmelo Hayes
While Bron Breakker might be the NXT Champion, he’s not the A-Champion. That honour goes to the NXT North American Champion Carmelo Hayes. In two weeks, he has to face off with Cameron Grimes – but tonight he’s got something to say. Trick Williams was here like always, who would claim Grimes isn’t ready – as he only beat a distracted D’Angelo.
Grimes is too busy playing poker and watching stocks, while Hayes is busy winning championships. Hayes knows that he’s a threat, and that is why he’s putting in more work than ever – all to remain the standard bearer of NXT. Grimes would hit the ramp, looking sharp.
He’d quickly have the favour of the crowd with some “To The Moon” chants, and quickly get under the skin of both Williams & Hayes. Williams was the one standing up, which had Grimes asking who he will actually be facing. In two weeks, Grimes will find out what makes Hayes so good. In his words, “Imma shoot for the moon and take the stars as casualties.”
