Jana Kramer has been speaking out against the problem of domestic violence and being a victim herself.
Jana Kramer Recalls Being A Victim Of Domestic Violence-‘I KNOW How Hard It Is’
It is no secret that domestic violence does not get enough attention, with it often being brushed off as something that should stay in house. But given that Jana has been a survivor of domestic abuse, it has naturally been a cause that is very close to her heart.
In order to prevent other people going through similar experiences, Jana wanted to share her own story. In a post to her fans on Instagram, Jana shared a page from her journal where she had outlined her thoughts.
The post was captioned by the following comments: “I decided to look back in my journal last night and I felt pulled to share this. This entry was from my journal back in 2004 when I was dating my first abuser.
“The sad truth is, I was in that cycle for many years after that.” But after having gotten the courage to get out of that relationship, Jana’s love life did not get any easier.
Her marriage to Mike Caussin, with whom she has children, ended badly after he had decided to cheat on Jana numerous times. While she has since then managed to move on by hooking up with none other than Ian Schinelli, the road to that happiness was a long one.
Jana Kramer added: “I KNOW how hard it is to leave. I know how they can literally deplete you of any self worth. That’s what they do best. Make you believe no one else in the world would want you. Heres the truth. You DON’T deserve that.”
And by speaking out, Jana’s story will serve as an example for other people that it is possible to overcome anything regardless of how bad things may look.
Her following comment confirmed as much: “I was one of the lucky ones….and I’m really hoping this helps someone right now too so you can also be the lucky one.”
Jana Kramer has shown a lot of courage to speak about this publicly, when there was no obligation on her to do so, as well as the fact that it was bound to have unearthed many previously repressed emotions. And for that, she should be commended.
