When it comes to the roster of AEW, it’s grown immensely since the company started back in 2019. Names have come and gone, with even the likes of Cody Rhodes having moved on to the next stages of their career. Lot’s of talent from the other side of the “Wednesday Night Wars’ would come to AEW, with the likes of Keith Lee & Adam Cole going up. However, this just gets AEW originals like Wardlow fired up.
Wardlow Gets Extra Motivation When Talents Like Adam Cole Join The Fray
While speaking to Nick Hausman on The Wrestling Inc. Daily podcast, Wardlow would be asked about Keith Lee joining AEW – and had the following to say.
“He’s just another body that I’ve got to go through. I know he did great things elsewhere, but he’s here now. So, I don’t care what you’re name is, I don’t care where you came from. You’re in my world now. Cool, if he can bring some new fans to the product, awesome. But things are a little different in AEW, and he’s going to find that out.”
Even someone like Adam Cole doesn’t get any fear out of Wardlow, despite being the top star of NXT during the Wednesday Night Wars. If anything – it just makes Wardlow work and hit harder.
“You know, acquiring someone like an Adam Cole is huge for us. Now I will say, being an AEW original, these guys coming in from the other place, and taking spots, you know, that’s something that gives me a little extra motivation when I am laying in those powerbombs. To remind everyone whose house it really is.”
Our Next TNT Champion?
Right now, Wardlow is on his way to his first title match in his AEW career. Having won the Face of the Revolution Ladder match at AEW Revolution, Wardlow now has a chance to become TNT Champion. This potentially makes Scorpio Sky a transitional champion, but only if MJF doesn’t try and find a way to screw Wardlow.
Having worked under MJF for his entire AEW run until breaking off from him at AEW Revolution. MJF is unlikely to just let this slide, even after Wardlow promised to leave him alone provided MJF does the same.
