Kevin Hart praised Dave Chappelle for keeping his composure after recently being attacked while performing.
Kevin Hart Praises Dave Chappelle For Keeping His Cool After Being Attacked-‘That’s What A Professional Does’
The comedian just so happened to be on stage for the ‘Netflix Is A Joke’ festival on Tuesday, 3rd May 2022. That is when the defendant Isiah Lee decided to confront Dave by brandishing a replica gun, which had a folding blade.
While the comedian did not suffer any injuries, there could easily have been a huge commotion had it not been for Dave’s composure. That is something that left Kevin feeling very impressed.
In an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Kevin said: “Dave went back after that and finished doing the show and didn’t let that thing be a big thing.
“He quickly moved on from it and got back to doing comedy, and that’s what a professional does.” Much in the same way, Chris Rock had also exhibited similar behavior during his encounter at the Oscars.
Will Smith had decided to uncharacteristically last out at the comedian simply because he had made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s hair loss.
But rather than responding in kind, Chris decided to make a slight joke about it by claiming that this was ‘the greatest night in the history of television,’ despite having been humiliated in front of a global audience at a live event.
And that respect that comedians should have for their audience is ultimately something that must prevail. Kevin added: “Ultimately, these moments of [un]professionalism should not break professionals.
“They shouldn’t shape or mold the world that we’re now being seen or viewed in.”
Kevin certainly knows what he is talking about. After all, he admitted that he had been exposed to certain types of behaviour on stage after having been hit by a buffalo wing by a member of the audience at a male strip club.
But those experiences ultimately went on to shape him, much like what it will do to Dave’s comedy career. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
