Prince Andrew will reportedly make another public appearance in June 2022 when he shows up at Garter Day with other royals. Garter Day, which is one of the most important royal celebrations, will hold on June 13th, 2022. However, it is understood that the Duke of York’s name will be included in the Court Circular. The journal is used to record the formal activities performed by active royals.
According to a Palace insider who spoke to the Telegraph, including Prince Andrew’s name in the Court Circular is “normal practice.” Only activities performed by active royals are listed in the journal. However, for big royal events like memorial services or Garter Day, inactive members of the firm are also included as attendees.
Prince Andrew Set To Reclaim The Limelight At Garter Day
Windsor Castle hosts the annual Garter Day ceremony each year. For the first time since the coronavirus outbreak began, Garter Day will be held this year. As a further bonus this year, the Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla, will be inducted into the nation’s oldest and most prestigious Order of Chivalry.
The monarch bestowed this honour on Camilla, on December 31st, 2021. It is understood that this move symbolized Her Majesty’s confidence in Camilla as the future Queen Consort. Since naming Prince William a Knight of the Order in 2008, the monarchy has only made one new Royal Companion, which happens to be Camilla. It is possible that Prince Andrew’s presence at the event may overwhelm the emotional setting of this occasion.
In March 2022, the Duke actually stole the show at Prince Philip’s memorial service. The Duke made the headlines that day for walking the Queen down the church’s aisle. Despite losing his royal and military patronages, the Duke still holds the royal knightship honour.
This honour was bestowed on him by his mother, the Queen. This allows Andrew to attend the Windsor event in a non-public position. It will be the first time the Duke will be seen in public since Prince Philip’s memorial in March 2022.
