We’re closing in on Forbidden Door, a PPV that will see the rosters of NJPW & AEW clash. Everything is already sold out without a single match being announced, which means these two companies just need to focus on putting together a strong card with stars from each company. One man who hopes to be on the card is Lance Archer, who is now with AEW – but spent nine years in NJPW.
Lance Archer Wants House Of Black vs. Suzuki-gun
In a new interview with NBC Sports Boston, Lance Archer would talk about how during his time in NJPW he’s already faced everyone- so instead he hopes to be teaming with Suzuki-gun at Forbidden Door. He even has a potential six man tag team match in mind.
“That’s the crazy thing because I’ve worked with New Japan for nine years. So to say ‘Is there a dream match?’. I’ve pretty much had them luckily. So I don’t know if there is anybody specific I’d like to have a dream match with because again, I’ve had a chance to work with them. I’m wearing Suzuki-gun’s outfit right now, I’m Suzuki-gun forever. So the possibility of teaming with Suzuki or even more with Suzuki-gun at Forbidden Door, I think that would be a lot of fun for myself and for the fans.
Suzuki and I got to tag together against Moxley and Eddie Kingston in New York at Arthur Ashe, which was an amazing experience in itself. But at Forbidden Door, I think it’s already sold out, close to 15,000 tickets and I don’t think one match has been announced yet. So the fans are clamouring for it. As a group, as Suzuki-gun, I think that’d be a lot of fun.
I’ll throw out a possible fun dream match because the two guys just fought last week. Brody King fought Minoru Suzuki at New Japan’s Capital Collision. So they had a battle, so why not Suzuki-gun vs. House Of Black? That’d be cool.”
Suzuki-gun Have A Few Potential Matches
Needless to say, having Malakai Black face off with Minoru Suzuki at this event in any capacity would be something that fans are keen to see. We need to expect a slew of tag team matches on the card, and these two factions will mesh together nicely.
Another match fans have pitched for Suzuki-gun on the event is Blackpool Combat Club, with Danielson & Moxley both having previously singles matches with Minoru Suzuki. Wheeler Yuta recently faced Suzuki-gun member El Desperado as part of the Best of the Super Juniors tournament, in a losing effort.
