Britney Spears has been left heartbroken in response to a Texas shooting at an elementary school.
Britney Spears’ ‘Heart Is Shattered’ Following Texas School Shooting
According to reports, the shooting occurred in Texas at the Robb Elementary School which killed a reported 19 children and two adults.
The defendant in question Salvador Ramos had allegedly been in the school for around an hour before the incident took place. And with so many innocent lives lost, Britney echoed the words that the world has been feeling in response to this tragedy.
In a post to her fans on Instagram, she said: “My heart is shattered. I’m lost for words. My prayers are with the victims of Robb Elementary and their families. Our sympathies and condolences are just not enough.”
Aside from those words, Britney made it clear that something needed to change so that incidents like this would not happen again. Although she did not mention what those changes should be, there is a feeling that she was hinting at gun control laws.
The right to bear arms has been a divisive issue and incidents like this do not help matters. With that being said, Britney was clearly frustrated.
She added: “We have to take action. We need change. Enough is enough. We will keep our prayers coming even if it’s not enough to heal the loss.”
The fans on social media had a lot to say about this. A certain subset of people demanded that tougher action be taken in order to impose measures on guns. And some even went as far as to suggest that a separate movement be set up to aid that.
One person wrote: “Please ask your “FREE BRITNEY” followers to start a “FREE US FROM GUNS” movement!! This is YOUR “take action” time!!!”
It is clear that something does need to be done, but how that ends up coming about is anyone’s guess. That is why the most important thing to remember is the victims that have suffered. So there you have it folks.
