After the delivery of the Johnny Deep trial verdict, there are countless rumors about Amber Heard’s career spreading all over the internet. Most of them are suggesting that the actress’ career will crumble. That she won’t be starring in any new movies. They go to the extent to claim that she will not appear in the sequels of the movies she already stars in.
One of the most iconic roles of the actress is the role as Mera in Aquaman. The rumors spreading since the start of the trial between her and Johnny Depp state that she will not take place in the sequel. However, the actress confirms that the rumors are not correct and that everything is continuing according to the initial plan. She confirms through a spokesman that the Mera character still belongs to her. Cutting off Mera from the movie is not something that would be achievable easy. Mera represents an integral character in the movie and as such, cannot be cut off completely.
After All, Amber Heard Will Definitely Appear In ‘Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom’
To be frank, it would be a great injustice to cut off the Mera character from the movie. All this because Amber Heard lost a court case against her ex-husband, Johnny Depp. The ‘personal’ issues or happenings outside of the set shouldn’t affect Amber’s starring in Aquaman or any other movie for that matter. Aquaman is one of the greatest DC movies of all time and would not be the same without her essential role. Furthermore, the situation is not such that Heard’s starring in the movie might affect the tickets sale too much. There are official reports dating even before the trial that Amber’s role is already slimmed down.
Another important ‘detail’ here is the cost of re-casting and re-shooting the scenes where Amber appears in the movie. The cost of re-shooting all scenes would be enormous. So, cutting her off completely doesn’t seem like a rational choice.
Several times, since the trial started, Amber Heard denied the claims that she will not star in the movie. A fact that weighs the matter to her side is that she has already received the funds for her role in the movie. Moreover, she already shot the scenes. So the crew and the directors do not have the possibility to say ‘her emotional stance is not stabile after the trial and that’s why she can’t act’.
To conclude, the ‘cutting off story’ is completely untrue. Furthermore, Heard plays Mera in Justice League as well. So to be honest, her role in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, for now, seems pretty locked in with her.
The scheduling for the premiere of the movie is on the 17th of March 2023, on St.Patrick’s day. We hope that when people see the movie they will forget the trial for a moment and focus on her acting. That way, maybe she will get a grasp of her old fame once more.
