Hello and welcome to WWE Smackdown Results!

Tonight looks like it’s going to be a fun one with an Intercontinental Championship rematch and more.

    Let’s get to the action!

Drew McIntyre opened the night by coming out and pointing out Roman Reigns has been ducking him, so he has to force Reigns’ hand and with the MITB match.

After pointing out Brock Lesnar did his thing to get a match at SummerSlam, but he’s going to do it his way and Sheamus and company came out and gave Drew grief for being in the MITB match because Adam Pearce felt sorry for him.

Sheamus pointed in he previously cashed in on Roman Reigns, and that’s when Paul Heyman and Adam Pearce came out.

    Wait what?!

Per @ScrapDaddyAP, @DMcIntyreWWE and @WWESheamus are no longer in the #MITB Ladder Match! pic.twitter.com/wBnHzU1HS3

    — WWE (@WWE) June 25, 2022

Heyman did his usual selling points for Reigns and how he’s defending the titles against Lesnar in a Last Man Standing Match and predicted Reigns will win.

He pointed out that after the match, Reigns will be vulnerable to a cash in by someone like Sheamus and Drew, and Heyman’s there to ensure it won’t happen again.

Heyman urged Pearce to make his announcement, and Pearce said he was hasty putting them both in the MITB match, so they’ll have to team together and defeat The Usos tonight to get in, thanks to Heyman’s influence.

Money in the Bank Qualification Match – Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Sami Zayn

Nakamura slapped on an armbar right off the bat, but Zayn got free and ate a few kicks and a sliding sunset bomb off the ropes for a pin attempt.

Zayn slipped to the floor and sent Nakamura into the barricade via an Exploder, but Nakamura made it back into the ring at a count of nine.

Nakamura countered a charge and kicked Zayn out of the ring as we headed to commercial.

Nakamura fought back and caught Zayn coming off the top ropes with a kick for a near pinfall.

Zayn responded with a Mishinoku Driver for a near pinfall, and he went for the kill by heading to the top rope but Nakamura caught him and dropped him on his little Samis.

Zayn and Nakamura traded hard hitting moves and pin attempts, and Zayn rolled to the floor to avoid a kinsasha, so Nakamura followed him out and nailed him with a kinsasha.

Nakamura rolled Zayn into the ring, and Zayn nailed him with a Helluva Kick as he entered and scored the win.

The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods) vs. Jinder Mahal and Shanky

Before the match started, the New Day said they don’t take part in multiple rematches (since when?) because they don’t make sense.

So they played to the fans to see a dancing Shanky.

Woods played his horn and Shanky started dancing, and a furious Mahal stopped him and gave him grief. So Shanky shoved him and Mahal left the ring.

A horn sounded several times, and the Viking Raiders jumped them all from behind, sending Shanky to the floor and pounding New Day down.

They laid waist to Kofi with a double slam, and Erik slammed Woods from the second rope.

About time the Viking Raiders became super aggressive and dominant. Only took a couple of years.

2 on 1 Handicap Match – Sonya Deville w/Xia Li, Shayna Baszler vs. Lacey Evans and Raquel Rodriguez

Evans and Deville started it off, and Evans took her down and went for a pin attempt.

Baszler occupied Raquel, and Xia Li distracted Evans so Deville could hit a shop block and hit a knee for a near pinfall Raquel broke up.

    WINNERS!

Evans and Deville took each other out with jumping kicks, and Evans made the tag and Raquel went after Deville with a series of rights and a shoulder block.

She caught Deville off the ropes with a powerslam, and then his snake eyes.

Baszler distracted Raquel when she tried for a Tahana Bomb, and Evans blind tagged in and she nailed Deville with a Woman’s Right for the win.

Li and Baszler attacked them from behind after the match.

Raquel slammed Li with Deville on her back and Evans took out Baszler to hold the ring.
