The issue allegedly occurred on April 13, 2017. On July 18, PEOPLE obtained court documents that showed Brooks claimed Johnny Depp became angry when he told him they only had one more shot while filming a scene in the movie, and he turned to an LAPD officer for protection. The location manager said that Johnny followed him and allegedly punched him two times in the ribs after screaming, “Who the f— are you? You have no right to tell me what to do.”
The accuser went on to say that Johnny said he’d pay him “$100,000 to punch me in the face right now” after he didn’t punch him back. He said that the bodyguards had to remove Johnny from the sets.
This is coming nearly two months after the famous actor’s high-profile defamation trial with his ex-wife, actress Amber Heard over her 2018 op-ed about coming forward with domestic abuse allegations. Johnny was awarded with $15 million in damages, while the Aquaman actress will only have to pay $10.35 million due to Virginia’s cap on punitive damages (the judge reduced the amount). Regarding Amber’s countersuit brought against him, the actor was found to have defamed his ex-wife on one of three claims, and she was awarded $2 million in damages.
