It has been a wild year for the fans of two of WWE’s most popular female wrestlers. Sasha Banks & Naomi would walk out of WWE earlier this year, after a backstage dispute with management over the direction of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. WWE would respond by verbally ripping them into both names on TV, before looking to remove them from any advertising surrounding WWE. It quickly seemed like this was the end of both Banks & Naomi’s time in WWE – but this might have now changed.
Triple H Has Already Made Big Moves In WWE Since Assuming More Control
If Vince McMahon had remained in control of WWE, it would be likely that both Banks & Naomi would have moved on in their professional wrestling careers. However, with Triple H now being the one calling the shots on a creative side in WWE, and Stephanie McMahon as a co-CEO following the retirement of Vince McMahon? Things quickly changed in WWE.
In just one week, we’ve seen Dakota Kai brought back into the company, Io Shirai called up from NXT 2.0, and Tommaso Ciampa become the #1 contender for the WWE United States Championship. Add in Ronda Rousey turning heel, Becky Lynch turning face, and a clear focus on more in-ring action – and the influence of Triple H is already being felt.
Sasha Banks & Naomi Set To Return
Now, we’ve heard reports across the internet about Sasha Banks & Naomi signing new deals with WWE. Banks had previously been reported as being granted her WWE release, but no formal announcements were made by either Banks or WWE. It is likely there was always on-going talks between Banks & WWE, as they wouldn’t want to potentially give up one of their biggest names to a competitor like All Elite Wrestling without trying to mend the bridge first.
It’s unclear how soon Banks & Naomi will be brought back into the company. Initial reports put the return as early as last night’s episode of Monday Night RAW, but that show passed without this major return. When do you think Banks & Naomi will return to WWE? Will they be on Friday’s episode of Smackdown Live? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
