Last week, Keith Lee was attacked backstage by former ROH Pure Rules Champion Josh Woods, who has decided to align himself with Tony Nese & Smart Mark Sterling. Tonight, the AEW World Tag Team Champions will unite to take the fight to Woods & Nese – and shut down some potential challengers in the process. This is a major chance in the career of Josh Woods, and could well be the career-making performance he needs following major changes in Ring of Honor. To make things even more interesting, this one is a tag team street fight.
It’s A Friday Night Street Fight!
Swerve & Lee would go right after Woods & Nese on the floor. Lee would hit some clubbing blows to the back of Nese, as Woods drove Swerve into the apron. Nese was tripped onto a steel chair, before Swerve & Lee took turns nailing Woods with some heavy strikes.
Lee took a face full of protein powder, but Nese would have too much fun and got kicked by Swerve. Woods would get serious, and hit a twisting brainbuster into the steel steps. Lee was still trying to find his bearings, and Swerve would be double teamed in the ring, and thrown spine first onto the trash can lid.
Woods would get the near fall, as Nese would try to keep Lee on the outside. A table was set at ringside, and Swerve would be planned to go through it – but he’d try to avoid the powerbomb. Lee would get to his feet, but Woods would stomp him out – before Swerve got the kick to the face.
Swerve In Our Glory Survive A Hard Fight
Nese would hit the solebutt kick in the ring, before Lee would finally get to throw his weight around. He’d take a chair shot from Smart Mark STerling, and Nese & Woods would hit a double DDT. Nese & Woods stacked themselves on Lee to look for the pinfall, but Swerve broke things up with a 450 Splash.
Another table would be pushed into the ring, and Sterling would whack Swerve with a wrench. Lee would take Woods out, before baiting Nese in and nailing the headbutt. Sterling would try to put Swerve through the table, but Lee would drive him through instead – to the glee of the fans.
Woods would try to hit the German Suplex through the tables on the floor – but Lee would more crash onto Woods, with both men out. Nese would shove some chairs into the ring, knowing it was up to him to beat Swerve. Swerve would back body drop Nese onto the steel chairs, before the Swerve Stomp for the win.
