In Florida, an armed suspect was shot by Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies on August 6, 2022. The suspect had shot two others prior to being shot by law enforcement.

Earlier, deputies responded to a shots fired call from the Heritage Hotel on Orange Blossom Trail in Orlando. Undersheriff Mark Canty said that the deputies discovered one victim and ran into the suspect while tending to them.
The suspect was ordered to drop his gun but refused to do so. A deputy shot the suspect. Deputies were alerted of a second victim en route to the scene. All three were taken to the hospital but the suspect and the first victim would later succumb to their injuries.
As for the third person involved, they are still in the hospital receiving treatment. The deputy that shot the suspect will be placed on paid leave while the Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigates the shooting.
