Dana White is rarely wrong about something in the UFC, especially when it comes to recognizing talent. That way, he recognized that Paddy The Baddy has a certain vibe surrounding him that reminds him of Conor McGregor.
Don’t take this as a reminder regarding his fighting style, or trash talk. He refers to Paddy’s vibe with the audience when in the octagon. He somehow ‘clicks’ with the surroundings and goes with the flow that he sets up in the arena.
Paddy Pimblett Agrees That He Has A Similar Vibe To Conor McGregor
After just three fights, Paddy has become one of the most popular UFC stars, and this has drawn comparisons to McGregor’s rise. Paddy has a great pool of Instagram followers, 1.8 million followers to be more precise. To add up to this, his initial account got deleted so this is his second one, and a recent one as well.
Dana White spoke highly of Pimblett at the press conference after his most recent fight. He said “He’s got that Conor McGregor vibe. When he walks, when he’s in the arena, the way that the fans receive him, the way that the media covers him. The way that the people who search for content.”
Dana continued to express his amazement with Paddy by pointing out how many views his story featuring Paddy has and pointing out how many shares Paddy’s posts on his account have. This, according to Dana is proof of Paddy’s popularity.
Paddy obviously agrees with him.
“He knows what he’s talking about, he does, doesn’t he? He’s not wrong and he got me onto that, I actually went back and looked at some of the Instagram reels because he mentioned ‘look at the numbers’ and I went and looked at the numbers. My reels were getting more than any of them. I told you, I’m the new kid on the block. I’m the new main man and the numbers reflect that.”
Paddy fought his first two bouts for a ‘joking’ amount of £9500, but since his popularity is on an evident rise this has been upped by a considerable amount. According to Dana he now earns ‘f**king big money’.
Additional to this, Paddy already signed a seven-figure deal to be a brand ambassador and content creator for US media company Barstool Sports.
The Baddy is aware of the taxes in the USA. That’s why he preferred to be out of the New York pay-per-view event in November. His teammate and a close friend Molly Meatball McCann will fight alone in New York as her friend will not share the same fight card this time. Paddy is targeting December and the UFC 282 as a return event. It will happen in Vegas, and he is OK with the taxes in this state.
“I think I’m going to fight in Vegas, that’s what I’m hoping.” – Paddy says about his plans. “I’m seeing the card getting slated for December 10th. Everyone wants to fight me because they’ve all got less than 100,000 followers. I’ve got 1.8 million or something like that. I’m also not a very scary dude so people think ‘I can beat him’. And then when you get in the cage with me and you’ve got to solve the puzzle, you can’t.”
