Prince William attended a sports charity at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London backed up by his own foundation. This was the charity’s 10th anniversary and Prince William decided to honor the attendees by showing a skill that no one knew he had. He put up boxing gloves and showed off his boxing skills.
Prince William also held a speech praising the organization for its “incredible achievements”. He pointed out that the coaches who are trained by the organization will continue and work in their communities.
Prince William Shows Off His Boxing Skills And Reveals He Had A Knuckle Injury That Stopped His Boxing Career
While combining jabs with straight crosses and hooks, the Prince showed off his skills to Gabrielle Reid and Joshua Jones, the two young ‘coaches to be’. They offered the Prince some tips and tricks to improve his skills, and he accepted the criticism.
“He picked it up very fast, and he said he had boxed before.” Gabrielle Reid told of her experience with the Prince. “I didn’t have to teach him much. I’m not going to forget this experience, it was crazy.”
“I just went over the fundamentals of boxing, and I showed him the jab and backhand. I showed him how to throw a one-two, and his stance and guard.” – Joshua Jones told the journalists. “He enjoyed it, he said he’d done a bit before but had a little knuckle injury. So wouldn’t be taking it up any time soon.”
Prince William also held a lengthy speech at the event. He addressed the incredible advancement of the sports charity over the years. He spoke about the charity’s future and about his views on where he sees it in the following period.
“Sport has an incredible way of providing hope, connection, and opportunity. When we established Coach Core, we designed it to help change young people’s lives. Since then, more than 750 young people have been supported through the program. Eight million participants received 600,000 sports sessions. We are both so proud of all the remarkable progress that the charity has made. To all the Coach Core apprentices, we want to say well done. Also, thank you.” – Prince William greeted the advancement of the sports charity.
“We all face barriers and challenges in life, and these can sometimes take incredible bravery to overcome. Not only have you faced these down, but you have also positively impacted the lives of others along the way and inspired many more.”
The bellowed Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales was accompanying Prince William the whole time. She even gave herself a try in a game of wheelchair bow. But she did not impress anyone with her skills as she completely missed the target two times.
