For many fans, the pick for the best professional wrestler of 2022 has been Will Ospreay. The reigning IWGP United States Champion has been turning heads in Japan, North America and the UK with his incredible matches, having five star matches in three different countries over the past few months. At just 29 years old, the future of the industry might well belong to Ospreay, and he’s now called out two names from WWE.

Will Ospreay Calls Out Seth Rollins & Ricochet From WWE

While speaking with Tokyo Sports, Will Ospreay would detail two potential dream matches he has with members of the current WWE roster. Ospreay would be quoted saying the following.

“I’ve mentioned Seth Rollins’ name many times. And he’s approached me from the other side, so I have a lot of thoughts. I also think it would be a dream come true to fight Ricochet one more time, considering my history. I think we’ve both become completely different wrestlers from when we fought in the past. I think we’re at a turning point right now, and in the past I’ve talked with people from WWE about how it would be nice to have a dream match in the future that transcends the boundaries of the different organizations.”

Right now – it’s looking like anything is possible. WWE is allowing Shinsuke Nakamura to wrestle The Great Muta in Pro Wrestling NOAH on January 1st, 2023 – and Karl Anderson is expected to defend the NEVER Openweight Championship on January 4th despite his WWE contract. The Forbidden Door has been firmly propped open, and while recent social media comments push towards Jon Moxley vs. Will Ospreay on January 4th – Ricochet could be just as likely a challenger.

Their matches as junior heavyweights went viral for the sheer amount of athletic ability both men showed. They last met in 2017, on the second night of the Best of The Super Juniors Tournament – a tournament Ospreay would go on to win. Ricochet most recently was seen on Smackdown Live, losing to LA Knight. Ospreay is set to defend the IWGP United States Championship against Shota Umino on November 20th.

Do you think we’ll ever see Ricochet & Ospreay wrestle again? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.

A wrestling fan practically since birth, who has been hooked since he got his first toy wrestling ring for Christmas as a child. Since getting access to the internet, he's watched more wrestling than he could ever remember from all around the world. It's hard to keep track of what happens in the wild world of professional wrestling, but he always tries to stay up to date. Note: No relation to Tully Blanchard of Four Horsemen fame (probably).
