AEW Revolution now has just one match left. We have but the main event remaining, Jon Moxley challenging for Chris Jericho’s AEW World Championship title! Mox has a long walk from the outside of the building and to the ring. Jericho has a damn choir out here to sing his metal theme! Incredible. I’m honestly really bothered by how good it sounds.
AEW World Championship: Chris Jericho (c) vs. Jon Moxley
The bell rings and we’re off to the races! Exchange of punches! Mox with chops, clothesline takes Jericho to the floor! Pursues! Santana and Ortiz are here backing Chris up. Moxley throws Chris over the barrier. P-N-P get in Jon’s face to distract, Jericho throws water into Moxley’s eye! Pulls him out into the crowd! Swinging weapons into Moxley’s back! Mox fights back, slams his face into a railing, pulls him up the steps… poses to a huge ovation! Jericho throws Mox into a fan! Grabs a camera and films Moxley, flips him off! Grabs a frame of some sort and puts it around his neck as he attacks Mox, grabs a barricade and slams it into his back!
Drags him to the ramp, Moxley with forearms, headbutt sends Chris to the floor. Leaps from the ramp with a double axehandle! Chop to the chest! And a second! Bites the stitches on his forehead! “You Sick F*ck” chant, Jericho reverses a whip and sends Moxley facefirst into the ringpost! Sent on his blindside and Mox is bleeding now. There’s a cut over his good eye! Jericho pulls him over to the timekeeper’s table and Powerbombs him right onto it, his head bounces into the ringbell! Mox slowly rolls into the ring, Jericho smacking him in the face. Comes off the middle rope with an elbow! Mounted punches.
Jericho rolls out of the ring and grabs the ring bell, rings it himself and declares himself the winner on the mic! Big pop for that. He rolls into the ring and stomps Moxley’s chest! Catapult Guillotine! “Stupid Idiot” chant as he smacks Moxley’s head. Jericho with the double birds to the crowd. Pulls Mox to his feet and slaps him. Moxley presses his forehead against Chris’ to hiss at him, throws him to the corner and gets him with chop after chop! Back elbow stops the flurry!
Le Champion deposits him to the outside, distracts Aubrey Edwards as Santana stomps Moxley into the floor. Jericho pursues but Mox fights back, irish whip takes the challenger into the steps! Ortiz yells at him. Jericho throws him into the ring, Inverted Suplex strings him up on the top rope, dropkick to the head! Cover for a nearfall! Chops in the corner. Whip to the opposite corner, charging clothesline. Takes him up top, chop to the chest, goes to the top with him, hooks him for a superplex. Moxley blocking, Pancake sends him to the mat! Mox comes off the top with a Flying Clothesline!
Moxley takes it to Jericho, series of lariats in the corner, stomps a mudhole as he flies into a rage! Whip reversed, Moxley with a back elbow, off the second rope with a dropkick but Jericho blocks it, wants a Walls of Jericho but Mox converts it into a Heel Hook, calling back to his Randy Couture training! But Jericho was too close to the ropes, got the break, rolls to the floor… Mox with a suicide dive! Throws him into the ring, jawjacks with Santana… Jericho wants the Springboard Dropkick but Mox counters with a Hot Shot! Cover for a nearfall!
Wants the Paradigm Shift but Santana on the top rope, Mox knocks him off, referee is distracted – Ortiz gets Mox with the loaded sock! Le Champion with a Lionsault for a nearfall! Power Whip, Mox rebounds, Chris with a clothesline drops him! Goes for the Codebreaker, Mox throws him off, hooks for the Paradigm Shift but Mox trips him into a Walls attempt, only for Mox to reverse into a Walls of Jericho of his own! Big pop!! “Tap!” chant as he reaches for the ropes! Moxley pulls him to the center! Jake Hager rushes down the ramp… Moxley breaks the hold and gets him with a running forearm! Turns right around into the Codebreaker! Long delay before the cover, nearfall!
Walls Of Jericho locked in proper now! Mox struggling! Jericho can’t quite lock his hands. Moxley grabs the bottom rope to force the break! Jericho gets in the face of Aubrey and smacks her arm to get some heat. Shoves her! Big reaction to that one. Mox ducks a clothesline, Back Suplex nailed! Hits the ropes, runs through him with a Clothesline! Hager gets him with a right hand! Aubrey ejecting the whole Inner Circle to a gigantic reaction, Santana and Ortiz taking bumps off of it! “Aubrey” chant!
Sammy Guevara in from behind though with the title belt! Rams it right into Moxley’s face! Jericho covers… kickout at the last possible second! “Let’s Go Moxley” chant kicking up and it is loud! Mox with forearms to Moxley’s cut! Mox fights to his feet, big punch to the face! Exchange of strikes! Kick to the gut, Paradigm Shift attempted but Jericho escapes and gouges his good eye! Running kick to the face that Mox could not see coming! Mox is swinging blind, he has no idea where the champ is. Right hand drops him. Jericho with a kneedrop to the eye!
Teases the Judas Effect now! Moxley fighting to his feet… ducks it! Double Arm DDT nailed!!! Moxley pulls of the eyepatch… seems like the injury healed!!! Crowd rising to their feet! Kick, PARADIGM SHIFT!! And that is that!

Awesome stuff, great story throughout. What a gritty battle. And I did really feel in my bones that this was time but I wasn’t sure by any means, not at a single moment throughout the match. Great stuff though, Jon Moxley gets the win and we have our second ever AEW World Champion! Moxley has his own champion shirt with “I Was There” on the back, that thing is gonna sell like crazy tonight.
Mox grabs the mic after a lengthy series of replays. Music fades, enormous chant of “Moxley”! Crowd stayed loud the whole time tonight, very impressive. Jon says “Goddammit, I love this shit!” to open up. Says it’s been a crazy year, one hell of a long road but this doesn’t just belong him. The wrestling fans have been driving AEW forward, they are the energy that drives AEW. A year ago, they had a conversation about how they were about to bring pro wrestling back to the people. All the people who have been with him from the beginning, all the ups, all the downs, the fans who have stuck with him, moving forward, pushing forward, this belongs to you. Big ovation. Mox says he does not have words to express the gratitude that he has for the entire AEW family and the most important part of the family is you. He doesn’t know what else to say, he feels like it’s Beer O’Clock. Huge pop.
His music hits. “Hey, what the f*ck?” he yells, he cuts his music off. Says he’s making this up as he goes. You can line ’em up, he’ll knock ’em down, it’s time for some whiskey. Rolls out of the ring and his music hits for real, as he goes out into the crowd to celebrate!
