Ahead of the start of the Super Junior Tag League, Lio Rush gets his first chance to team with CHAOS – as they face down familiar foes in House of Torture. YOH & Rush will be facing the reigning IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions tomorrow to start the tournament, meaning tonight is an essential match for them to mesh as a tag team. With Tomohiro Ishii & YOSHI-HASHI by their side, it’s a very winnable match – and a great way to start this PPV.
Lio Rush & YOH Mesh As A Tag Team
EVIL & co would attack before the bell, with SHO & YOH sticking around in the ring. YOH would drop SHO with a flying forearm smash, and Togo trying to make it a sneak attack. Rush would hit the ring, hitting a running scissor kick before YOH hit a neckbreaker. YOSHI-HASHI would lay in the strikes on SHO before a neckbreaker of his own.
EVIL would pull the corner pad away from the House of Torture corner as YOSHI-HASHI was thrown in. Yujiro Takahashi would hit a snapmare into a running dropkick, before sending YOSHI-HASHI into the steel. EVIL would finally tag in, with YOSHI-HASHI nailing some chops to the throat, before a running dropkick to the knee.
Ishii would hit the ring with his usual aggression, running down all four members – signalling what he can do when he wrestles Chris Jericho this coming Wednesday. Togo would take a high angle back suplex, before this broke down. Rush would be legal, and would hit a picture perfect 3K alongside YOH for the victory.
Two Of Stardom’s Top Factions Show Their Speed & Grace
Queens Quest & Donna Del Mondo are two of the top factions in Stardom, and they continue their on-going rivalry here tonight. Saya Kamitani, AZM and Lady C will be representing Queens Quest, while Himeka, Mai Sakurai and Thekla will represent Donna Del Mondo. Factor in AZM being the reigning High Speed Champion and Saya being the Wonder of Stardom Champion – and DDM have two high value targets to focus on if they intend on earning title shots at the forthcoming Dream Queendom event.
Himeka & Saya would kick things off, with Himeka controlling a wrist lock before applying a headlock. Saya would shove her off, before springing into a dropkick. Thekla & AZM would kick things into super speed, missing dropkicks before The Toxic Spider would play some mind games. Saya and AZM would trip Thekla before Lady C would hit the Giant Spin.
Thekla would catch AZM in the corner with a chokehold over the ropes, before Himeka would rush in with a heavy shoulder tackle. Himeka would lift both Saya & ZAM into a torture rack, before dropping them both. AZM would catch Himeka with the missile dropkick, before Saya would hit a running knee smash – with Himeka coming back with one of her own before a Samoan Drop.
Saya Kamitani Goes High Risk For The Victory
Thekla would nail a boot to the jaw with Mai hitting the ring to apply an STF. Saya would escape, getting a springboard crossbody splash for a two count – before taking a Stunner. Mai would drop Saya with a missile dropkick, as Himeka held her up. Mai would get a two count off the Northern Lights Suplex, before a Gordbuster for the two, with AZM breaking things up. Lady C would hit a boot to Mai on the top rope before a chokeslam and a diving footstomp from AZM.
Spinning heel kick from Saya would get two before Himeka broke things up. AZM missed Thekla with a lariat before a spear – with AZM popping back to her feet with a Buzzsaw Kick. Saya looked for Star Crusher – but Mai would block before a Schoolboy Suplex. Saya would go to the top rope, hitting the Firebird Splash for the victory.
