A Jacksonville, Florida duo was arrested on drug smuggling charges after they were pulled over at a traffic stop. The arrest occurred in early January 2023 when a Jacksonville Sheriff’s deputy stopped a car on San Juan Avenue for having no functional tag lights.
Florida Duo Arrested During Traffic Stop Were Wanted for Trying to Move 25 POUNDS of Marijuana Through the Airport Months Earlier
The driver was Adrian Ball and his passenger was Cassandra Eller. After running a check of their names, the deputy found that both of them were wanted for trafficking marijuana at the Jacksonville International Airport.
In September 2022, Ball and Eller attempted to collect their luggage claim when they were stopped by DEA agents. They had noticed Ball acting suspiciously by continuously checking for airport police. One agent approached Ball and asked to check their bags. At first, Ball agreed then rescinded his permission and Eller referred to Ball when another agent asked to check her bag.
A drug-sniffing dog was brought in and alerted the DEA to the presence of potential drugs. The DEA called in for a search warrant and allowed the drug smuggling duo to leave. Once they finally had the warrant, they checked the three pieces of luggage and found 56 bags of marijuana weighing over 25 pounds.
As expected, Adrian Ball and Cassandra Eller were arrested on drug trafficking charges.
