A carjacker was shot and killed in the parking lot of a Sanford, Florida bar on January 19, 2023. The incident occurred at roughly 2:20 AM at George’s Tavern and the carjacker hid in a port-potty near his victim’s SUV.
Special Ops Veteran Shoots and Kills Would-Be Carjacker Attacking His Girlfriend
A customer witnessed the attack and said that the suspect had been waiting in the port-potty “for a few hours” and jumped out to grab a bartender who owned the SUV. Taking her to the ground, the suspect began beating and choking the woman.
The bartender’s boyfriend—described by witness Al Moon as “a special ops guy”—was at the bar to make sure she got home safely. When he saw the attack, he rushed out and shot the carjacker, killing him. According to the bartender’s father, she has bruises but she’s fine.
Authorities are still investigating the case and are looking to identify the carjacker. The police said that the bartender and her boyfriend won’t be charged at the moment. Given the situation, it’s unlikely charges will be filed.
