Bryan Danielson has fought like hell to earn his shot at AEW World Champion MJF at AEW Revolution. Danielson is walking into a sixty minute Ironman match, something he’s more than ready for – being one of two men to wrestle a sixty minute draw in AEW alongside Hangman Page. He defeated a series of opponents – with many looking to injure his arm at the request of MJF – but none were able to keep him down.
Danielson was glad to be back in Arizona, and the crowd would agree – erupting into Yes chants. When asked if they want him to become AEW World Champion, the crowd again responded with yes. Danielson would promise to do everything possible to make that happen, but first we need to talk about MJF.
MJF Details Why He Hates Bryan Danielson
MJF last week claimed he hates Bryan Danielson. This is the same man who tried to break Christopher Daniels arm, put a bounty on Danielson, and put William Regal in the hospital. Yet he feels he has reasons to hate Danielson. MJF would come to the ramp before Danielson could get to the point.
The champion would claim that he’s always been cast aside in his life, spinning a sob story about the love of his life – a woman he tried to start a family with, only to be left behind again. Now the only thing he can trust is the AEW World Championship. It’s the only thing stopping him from ending it all, and yet fans are begging for Danielson to take that belt away.
Everyone respects Danielson, yet this is a man who takes his wife and kids for granted. MJF hates Danielson because he’s had more head trauma than anyone this side of Mick Foley, and still wrestles. Danielson puts wrestling above his family every time he steps into the ring, which spits in the face of men like MJF. MJF would call Danielson an addict like Regal was, and MJF will turn his addiction into punishment at AEW Revolution.
MJF would address the kids of Danielson, saying he will pay for his selfishness at Revolution. He will make sure Danielson never plays with or pick up his kids again, as he intends to break that arm for good. On March 5th – MJF will give Danielson early on-set CTE.
Danielson would finally snap and attack MJF, with security unable to keep them apart as they looked to start their fight now. Finally they’d be pulled apart – but no one will keep them apart on March 5th.
Only One Team Moves Onto AEW Revolution
At AEW Revolution, The Gunns will have to prove their victory over The Acclaimed to become the AEW World Tag Team Champions was no fluke. They will defend against The Acclaimed, and the winner of two Battle Royales – with the first one tonight. 10 teams are in the mix – with both members needing to be eliminated to take them out of the match, and only one team will be left standing.
The twenty men would flood the ring, with the situation just being pure chaos as everyone split off. Tony Nese almost eliminated Penta El Zero Miedo with help from Josh Woods, with Mark Briscoe rushing the ring to take Woods out. Nese would be eliminated with the Fear Factor on the apron, as Lucha Bros would take out Ari Daivari next – the first team out.
RUSH would almost take Fenix out, while John Silver held Jay Lethal upside down in a delayed vertical suplex. Butcher & The Blade would eliminate Darius Martin and both members of Aussie Open in one go, a massive upset considering Aussie Open was a favorite team to win. The Blade would be taken out of the match shortly after.
Butcher would take Alex Reynolds out next, before Preston Vance & Penta would were taken out of the match. Fenix would take out RUSH, taking La Faccion Ingobernable out of the mix. John Silver would be thrown out by Butcher, as Matt Menard & Angelo Parker finally got in the ring and got cursed by Danhausen before Best Friends took both men out of the match.
Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal Earn Their Title Shot
Lethal took Chuck Taylor out, leaving Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal as the only complete team left in the match. Jarrett would beat down Beretta on the floor with a steel chair, both men still in the match – having not left the ring over the top rope. Butcher tried to take Fenix out, but was unable to send him to the floor.
Back in the ring, Butcher held Beretta back as Jarrett hit a low blow. Fenix was sent through the ropes with a shoulder tackle, before Butcher took Dante Martin out. Fenix would take Butcher out from behind, and Lethal took Fenix out – taking Lucha Bros out. Beretta was faced by both Lethal & Jarrett in the ring – but didn’t just get thrown out.
Lethal & Jarrett were sent to the apron, but saved by Satnam Signh after a running dropkick. Lethal took the Tornado DDT, only for Beretta to walk into The Stroke. Beretta would hang on from two close eliminations, with Orange Cassidy making the save the second time. Lethal was sent out, leaving just Beretta and Jarrett in the match.
Jarrett was saved by Singh again and hit The Stroke again – before punching his ticket to AEW Revolution. Which team will this Fatal Four Way tag team championship match next? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
