When Chris Jericho made his return to New Japan Pro Wrestling in 2018 to challenge Kenny Omega for the IWGP United States Championship – everyone knew it was a huge deal. During Wrestle Kingdom 12, Omega would get the win in a critically acclaimed brawl. However, few would have been able to guess the long lasting effects of this match. It was the spark that started a fire, leading to the creation of All Elite Wrestling. During the first ever PPV of AEW Double or Nothing 2019 – the main event would see Jericho get the win in their rematch. Now, in 2023 – the rubber match could soon be on the horizon.
Chris Jericho Is Very Excited About What Is Coming When AEW Dynamite Hits Manitoba
While speaking on Busted Open Radio, Chris Jericho would speak about just how he’s involved with AEW on a creative level – and teased big plans for the upcoming episode of AEW Dynamite in his hometown of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Jericho had the following to say.
“Creatively, I’m very involved, but more importantly, it’s a creative passion that I have, not just for my stuff, but if I can help other people’s stuff, working closely with Tony Khan on that sort of thing. That, to me, is what keeps me going. I was just talking about a show we have coming up in Winnipeg, and the crux of AEW basically started from three guys in Winnipeg. Tokyo Dome; Jericho vs. Omega, that was basically brokered by Don Callis. Here we are, going back to Winnipeg, Jericho and Omega, there is a little bit of a legend between us, we have to be involved in some way. We were thinking about how we were going to do this and we came up with something yesterday that was really exciting to me I was up all night thinking about it, how fun it might be and how cool it’s going to be.”
