WWE Monday Night Raw is on tonight. Below you will see the results from the show as they come, plus links to recaps for every segment. Watch this space.
Segment 1: The Undertaker opens the show with a spooky smoky promo backstage, but still in his ABA look and speaking like a regular person. He runs down AJ Styles for coming after him, calls him by his real name, Allen Jones, since AJ’s done the same with Mark Calloway. Mentions how AJ brought up that he wouldn’t have challenged Taker a few years ago and he says he’s right, he was happy to be a big fish in a small pond because he couldn’t hang with the greats of yesteryear, waited until all of them were gone to come to WWE, all but him.
Segment 2: Becky Lynch came out and called back to last year’s WrestleMania main event. They then aired the Becky Lynch/Ronda Rousey/Charlotte Flair match in it’s entirety. Becky runs down Shayna Baszler. Admits that it’s true losing the title would destroy her. But for Shayna, this is her one chance to take Ronda Rousey’s spotlight for once instead of the other way around. Becky suggests that a loss would destroy her as well. Shayna Baszler then jumps Becky from behind, chokes her out and tosses her by the neck into the announce table. Aleister Black swiftly defeats Jason Cade.
Segment 3: In a six man tag team match, Kevin Owens and the Street Profits were meant to face off with Seth Rollins, Angel Garza and Andrade. However Zelina Vega announced that Andrade was out with a severe rib injury and thus Austin Theory was taking his place. The babyface team got the victory, but Rollins surprised Owens with an immediate Stomp afterwards.
Segment 4: After being laid out in the previous segment, Kevin Owens cuts a promo whilst still sat on the mat, leaning against the ropes. He says he’s thought a lot about what Seth was telling him last week, about how the Performance Center was built on his blood sweat and tears. Says he heard the exact opposite, that it was built in spite of him. That the people couldn’t stand him, as he thought he knew everything. Owens says that in the past year Seth has proven everyone right about him. He promises to take his first-ever WrestleMania moment away from him.
Segment 5: Backstage, Edge cuts a fantastic promo talking about how he and Randy Orton definitely have different definitions of the word ‘grit’. Calls out Orton for coasting for 20 years, being on-and-off and being okay with just being okay. Points out how everyone’s been saying this is the best Randy Orton has ever been right now, the best he’s been since 2011, after he came back to light the fire under him. Says Orton needs Edge to have passion and that’s what scares him. He’s dug a big hole for himself again and this time he won’t pull him out, he’ll make sure he never gets out.
Segment 6: Asuka squashes Kayden Carter. Charlotte Flair attacks Rhea Ripley outside the Performance Center. Paul Heyman guarantees that next year, Brock Lesnar will still be the WWE Champion in the go-home segment for the go-home show to WrestleMania.
