Over the past few months in AEW, Ethan Page has owned the contracts of Matt Hardy & Private Party. While Hardy would play along, he would screw over Page in a match against FTW Champion HOOK – and split from Page in the process.
This has set the stage for a feud involving Hardy, Private Party & HOOK against The Firm – but Hardy also has a ‘secret weapon’ up his sleeve, just waiting to be inserted.
Matt Hardy Has A Secret Weapon To Help Destroy The Firm
While appearing on Isaiah Kassidy’s YouTube channel, Hardy would open up about this news stage of the storyline against The Firm – revealing the following.
“There’s definitely gonna be blowback…but it’s all good. I got a plan in place. I got a secret weapon. I got a secret weapon that’s going to be inserted into this, and also HOOK is our boy. HOOK’s on our side. He said whatever we need him for, he’s in. Plus, we got friends. Our Rolodex is deep. We got friends, and I’m gonna be ready to call in some heavy hitters. It’s gonna be a fun time. It’s time to party hardy with the Hardy Party and delete The Firm. My prediction is when this is all said and done, you and I, The Firm thought they were bringing us in and making our life hell and they’re just gonna make money off us. But what they did is allow us to come in and, from the inside, we internally destroyed that bitch. When it’s all said and done, there’s not gonna be a Firm. We gonna shut that shit down.”
Jeff Hardy Is Preparing For A Return?
When placed alongside recent support from Matt Hardy for his brother Jeff Hardy to return to the ring – we have to assume this secret weapon is a returning Jeff.
For those unaware, Hardy suffered his third DUI in 2022, leading to a 10 year licence suspension, heavy fines, and time in a county jail.
Due to this, bringing back Jeff would potentially be risking to the reputation of AEW – but considering how wildly popular Jeff remains with a large set of fans, it’s unlikely to harm AEW much.
This is provided Jeff remains sober, as any more incidents would likely lead to Tony Khan releasing him from the company.
