WWE Friday Night SmackDown is upon us once more. Below you’ll be able to see the results of the show as they come, plus links to recaps of each segment. Watch this space.
Segment 1: To open the show, out came the new WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman. He celebrated his victory, talking about how when opportunity knocks you open the door. He implies that he’s put Goldberg down for good. Shinsuke Nakamura interrupts him and challenges him to a title match.
Segment 2: In the first match of the night, new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross defended the titles in a WrestleMania 36 Night 1 rematch against the Kabuki Warriors, Asuka and Kairi Sane. After a lengthier bout than the original, Bliss-Cross retained the titles.
Segment 3: Elias sings a song about his victory over King Corbin. He claims to be the new king now and throws his name in the hat to win the Money In The Bank ladder match. After an Otis/Ziggler Mania match recap, Dolph Ziggler and Sonya Deville come out to yell at commentary and claim that the footage was doctored. Tucker interrupts them and shows off some stills of Mandy Rose and Otis spending time together to get back at Dolph. He then challenged him to a match, wanting retribution for the Zig Zag onto the steps last week. The two faced off and Tucker tossed Ziggler around for much of the match but a timely Superkick gave Ziggler the victory.
Segment 4: The Miz & John Morrison come to host the Dirt Sheet and celebrate with their WWE SmackDown Tag Team titles. The Usos and the New Day interrupt and announce that next week, it will be Jey Uso vs. Big E vs. the Miz in a triple threat match for the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships.
Segment 5: The Forgotten Sons make their SmackDown debut and take on Lucha House Party, quickly getting the dominant victory. Dana Brooke and Carmella backstage ask Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross for a Women’s tag title match and they accept.
Segment 6: Bayley and Sasha Banks come out to gloat over the SmackDown Women’s title match at WrestleMania. Tamina interrupts them and challenges Bayley to a one on one match. Bayley tells her that she has to beat Sasha first and Sasha isn’t happy about that.
Segment 7: Sheamus defeats Cal Bloom in a quick squash. The first part of a Jeff Hardy doc airs. WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman takes on Shinsuke Nakamura in a non-title match. Braun got the victory but afterwards Bray Wyatt appeared on the screen to make his intentions clear and challenge Braun for the title.
