It has been a rough month for now former NXT talent Dan Matha. He has been released from his WWE contract after 5 years with the company, after just seeing some potential as a tag team known as ‘The Outliers’ in NXT UK with Riddick Moss under the ring name of Dorian Mak. Moss would be placed briefly on the main roster as a partner of Mojo Rawley, who then won the 24/7 Championship. After The Outliers folder, Matha would vanish once again until being released. Now to add to his misfortunes, it was later revealed he has been involved in a car accident.
Dan Matha Was Ejected Through Car Window
While he is now on the road to recovery, Dan Matha was involved in a gnarly car accident, where he was sent through the window of his car, leaving a hole in the back of his head. He posted the following tweet about this and the rest of his rough month. “Boy do I have a crazy ass story to tell all of u. From the world getting locked down, too getting ejected through my car window and then being released by the Wwe. It’s been a wild, I mean WILD 21 days.” but reassured fans with “For the record I’m alive and well.” It can’t be easy to go through all that in a single month, but he is staying positive and moving forward. What makes it worse is that it seems he got fired from WWE after being involved in a car accident.
Will Dan Matha Make An Impact Outside Of WWE?
At 6’7 and 290lbs, Matha is a legitimate heavyweight, and that is also the style he wrestles. He never showed great potential within WWE, being left for dead after he was hyped up for a debut that was actually an angle to make Samoa Joe look like a killer, but he showed clear improvement by the end. Still rough around the edges but clearly a tough bastard, the 31 year old should be able to find a home somewhere in wrestling, based on his size alone. Most wrestlers these days are smaller, making heavyweights more sought after. He might be stuck with working smaller companies, unless Ring Of Honor, Major League Wrestling or Impact Wrestling scoop him up allowing him to realize his potential finally.
