Cinta de Oro (former Sin Cara) Awaits His Formal Return to Lucha Libre

Per Super Luchas, former WWE superstar Sin Cara, now Cinta de Oro, is yet to have a match in Mexico.

“Since the Cinta de Oro left WWE on December 8, 2019, the gladiator began working on his return to the independent circuit, where he took the name he now bears in honor of the great figure, Sergio Aguirre, who was the original bearer of 1981. to 2016 when he passed away,” writes Apolo Valdes. “And although he had a small appearance still as AAA’s Sin Cara en Guerra de Titanes in December of last year, for the moment, he has only had one fight, which took place at a closed-door event alongside Pagano. However, he is still waiting for the wrestling functions in Mexico to be authorized to return to activity and start his way in the rings with his new character.”

The Guerra de Titanes fiasco was a risky move back in 2019 by Cinta de Oro. He debuted as Sin Cara, in a short time of his exit from WWE and on television. This could have infringed on the contract of the company, especially suing the name that is a trademark by the company. Since that day, Cinta de Oro has worked on returning and debuting a fresh character. The previous Sin Cara, the original Mistico (which is now used by the brother of Dragon Lee and Rush), went to work after his exit from WWE as Mistezys and now wrestles as Caristico for El Consejo Mundia de Lucha Libre (CMLL).

Meanwhile, as Super Luchas reports, the former Sin Cara has a “corrido” to his name in Mexico. The corridos is a Mexican tradition that uses popular icons and narrates their stories through the music. Here’s an excerpt by Super Luchas:

The Ciudad Juárez gladiator presented the theme on his different social networks, which will be available on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, and other platforms. In which his life story is told, from when he was young until he stopped using the name Sin Cara when he left WWE.

The former wrestler of WWE, in addition to showing off the song, showed how it was worked and the process of its preparation, to which he was very attentive.

It may be that the return of Cinta de Oro will be in late August or early September. The current situation in Mexico seems the delay the return, even in Mexico City. It’s unclear which company will pick up Cinta de Oro, but AAA looks like a prime candidate.
