Keith Lee is set to defend his NXT Championship against Karrion Kross at NXT Takeover XXX. Kross is the new monster on the block, and has his eyes set on the top prize. Despite being a fearsome force in the ring, he’s relied upon dirty tricks to get the upper hand going into Takeover.
Last week, after being handed the contract for the match, he’d have his manager Scarlett put some flashpaper in the contract. This led to Lee getting scorched by a fireball, putting his health in question.
A Recap Of This Feud Between Karrion Kross and Keith Lee
We would get a recap of the feud between Kross & Lee as a special feature on this episode. Ever since Lee beat Cole to win the championship, Kross has been in the shadows waiting for his shot. It wouldn’t have mattered if it was Cole or Lee who won, he was ready to strike.
The first big blow at Lee came when he’d demolish his best friend and ally, Dominik Dijakovic. Kross went way too far, putting Dijakovics career in danger. This would have been enough to get a title shot in most cases, but William Regal didn’t want to reward this behavior.
Kross would start attacking everyone in the backstage area, and following a match with Danny Burch? Lee would come out to the ring with a contract for the title match. That leads us to where we are now, with Lee nearly being blinded by Kross.
The Match Is Still On For NXT Takeover XXX
While we wouldn’t get an update on the status of Keith Lee, it’s clear that this match is still on. It is very hard to overcome Keith Lee, and Gargano tried to attack the eyes earlier this year, but still fell to the Limitless One.
This is a big hurdle for Keith Lee to overcome early in his reign, a reign that could be cut short. Karrion Kross has yet to be defeated, he tore men like Tomassao Ciampa, Dominic Dijakovic, and Bronson Reed to shreds. Will this list include Keith Lee after Saturday?
