The European soccer season is slowly drawing to its conclusion. No prizes have been handed out just yet, but the next couple of weeks will be pivotal in the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A and the Bundesliga. The best teams will also be competing for a spot in the Champions League and Europa League latter stages.
FIFA 21 are set to be releasing their Team of the Season cards over the coming weeks, with latest rumours indicating that the promotion will begin on the 23rd April. The promo will run until the European Championships get underway in June, but which stars could be set to make the cut?
FIFA 21 News: Premier League TOTS Cards
The Premier League Team of the Season cards could make for very interesting reading. It will likely be dominated by Manchester City players, with Pep Guardiola’s side looking comfortable at the top of the league. Ruben Dias, Ilkay Gundogen and Kevin De Bruyne all look certain to get TOTS cards. Phil Foden has also enjoyed an excellent campaign and could be a decent chance to be named.
Manchester United stars Bruno Fernandes and Luke Shaw will also be deserving of their place. Only Harry Kane and Mohamed Salah have scored more than Fernandes this season. Kane himself looks to be among the players to be included in the promotion. Other strikers worth a chance include Patrick Bamford, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Heung Min Son. Jesse Lingard could be a late contender for the honour too, as he has been named in the TOTW in the last two weeks.
FIFA 21 News: Outsiders For The TOTS
Jack Grealish is another that looks almost certain to make the cut for the TOTS. The Aston Villa captain has played his way into the England squad ahead of the Euros, and if fit, will be hard to leave out. There will be a number of outsiders to make the team, but Emiliano Martinez could be one of them. The Villa keeper leads the way for the Golden Glove, and has been a bargain signing from Arsenal.
Leicester duo James Justin and Wesley Fofana could also have an outside chance of getting into the team. However, it could be challenging given the form of John Stones and Luke Shaw this season. Reece James and Kyle Walker could be the most competition for the right-back slot, but it would seem Joao Cancelo should be the preferred option.
