WWE Smackdown Results tuned in as Big E was asked about changing his strategy since losing at WrestleMania.
He said he’s heard all the same questions, and said he and Apollo have been round and round, but all of that come to an end tonight when he gets his baby back and become a three time Intercontinental champion.
Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods weighed in on the Universal Championship and Woods went with Daniel Bryan and Kofi Kingston chose Reigns.
Intercontinental Championship – Apollo Crews (c) w/Commander Azeez vs. Big E
This match started fast as they locked up and Big E was backed into a corner.
Crews went to a rear waist lock on their next lockup, and Big E shrugged him off.
Crews went for another rear waist lock and Big E flipped him off with another hip toss.
Big E threw him into the ropes, and caught him in an abdominal stretch off the ropes and pounded on Crews’ side.
Big E then hit an elbow off the ropes for a pin attempt.
Big E pulled Crews to the apron and hit a series of clubbing blows on the apron, then hit a splash for a near pinfall.
Crews picked Big E up and hung him on the top rope and hit a clothesline, then he pulled Big E onto the apron and suplexed him to the floor as we headed to commercial.
Big E had it
Back form commercial, they’re back in the ring and Crews was in control but Big E reversed w whip into a corner.
Crews hit him with a boot and came off the top rope, and Big E caught him and hit a belly to belly suplex, then a second one before Crews sent him to the floor with a step up kick.
Crews hit a moonsault off the apron, then threw Big E into the ring and headed to the top rope.
Big E rolled out of the way and hit a belly to belly and a splash for a near pinfall.
Big E readied to finish it but Crews hit with a big boot for a near pinfall.
Crews hammered on Big E, then kicked him in the midsection. Crews followed that with a splash, but Big E caught him with a yurinagi on his next attempt for a near pinfall.
Crews rolled to the apron and Big E ran into a knee, and Crews pulled him out to his a slam on the ring apron.
Crews headed to the top rope and hit a splash for a near pinfall.
Big E slipped out of his Olympic Slam and hit the Big Ending btu Commander Azeez pulled Big E to the floor and threw him into the ring post.
Azeez check on Crews and Owens ran out and went after Azeez, but Azeez pushed him into Crews and Crews hit a right.
Big E came in and nailed both of them to prevent a Nigerian Nail, but Azeez took on both of them
Zayn came in and hit a Helluva Kick. Azeez threw Big E to the floor while Zayn caressed the title belt.
Zayn told them to calm down when they caught him with the belt and he handed it over and raised both their arms, and Azeez hit a Nigerian Nail on him.
No surprise in this ending for WWE Smackdown Results. It was a good match, though.
The Miz picked Roman Reigns to win, and Cesaro told Rollins he’ll take another swing and said he’ll face Rollins next week. He predicted Daniel Bryan will win tonight and he’ll beat Bryan at Backlash.
