The ‘Men Of The Year’ are on the rise in the AEW Tag Team division, but what makes Ethan Page & Scorpio Sky so dangerous are their prowess as singles wrestlers. Tonight, Page will have Sky in his corner as he takes on one half of Bear Country, in the treacherous Bear Bronson. It will be a major test, and while he’s the favorite to win, don’t count out someone as big as Bronson.
Ethan Page Bends The Rules
Sky was in the corner of Page, while Bear Boulder had his hands wrapped for a fight at ringside for Bronson. Bronson would shove Page into the corner, who came out with a big right hand that only served to piss Bronson off. Page would get pummeled and taken down with a shoulder tackle, before getting slammed into the mat for a two count.
Bronson would take Page to the apron, and drove him off the ring post before looking for a dive. Sky shoved Page out of the way, saving his partner and taking the blow for himself. Page would back into Bear Boulder, and complain that he touched him, getting the referees attention while Sky & Page double teamed Bronson and threw him into the barricade.
Back in the ring, Page would grind Bronson down with a waist lock, driving the breath out of him before hitting a big DDT in the middle of the ring for a two count. Bronson went for a charge into the corner but missed and took a head kick and two heavy shoulder tackles. Page would try for the Ego’s Edge, but get hit with a backdrop.
Bronson would fight back with some heavy lariats and a planting spinebuster. Page went for a Sunset Flip, and Bronson blocked with a hip drop. Bronson went up high, but was taken down with a superplex from Page. Page would nearly lose this one off a swinging side slam, before Bronson went up top. Sky ran a distraction to provoke Boulder, and while the referee wasn’t looking? Page hit a low blow and the Egos Edge for a win.
Ethan Page showed some solid heel work here, but the slow offense from Bear Bronson is better suited for tag team action. The finish showed the power of Page, but that was the most notable thing here. Match Rating: 2.75/5 (** 3/4)
Following the match, Page would take to the microphone to say that he knows for a fact he’s not done with Darby Allin. And frankly, Page isn’t just good with pinning him. Week after week, he’s been saying that he will be the nail in Darby’s coffin. So why doesn’t he just put him in one? On July 7th at Road Rager, Ethan Page wants to face Darby Allin in a Coffin Match.
