Kenny Omega feels like he can be beat
One of the biggest reasons why it feels so different watching both of these main event wrestlers is the whole feel of when you watch the match. When Kenny Omega has a match with Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley and Christain Cage, it feels like he can lose because he’s lost to people like PAC, Jon Moxley and Christain Cage in the past. Making it feel like now when he’s wrestling these massive matches. He could lose at any minute. This gets fans watching more involved with the match as it feels something big could happen.
In Roman Reigns‘ case, he feels too protected. This isn’t the fault of his current run but more due to the fact that Roman has been protected for years from his pushed babyface run where he was getting booed to his heel run now. He has been protected for years, and we don’t see him lose against anyone. This is good for the time we do see Roman lose. But when you’re watching the match, you don’t get as involved because, in most matches, you know that Roman will beat them in some way.
The Better Performer Vs. The Better Talker
Then the main difference between both of them is the way they perform within matches and promos. Looking at the build to a match and the match in general, there is no doubt that Kenny Omega is the better performer. You can compare both Bryan Daniel matches to make that decision. However, there is still the argument to be had that Roman Reigns is the better talker.
Roman Reigns talking abilities within his heel gimmick feels amazing where Kenny Omega may be good but doesn’t feel like it’s on the same level. It has improved over time in AEW, and could see it even better in the future. Still, currently, Roman Reigns promo work is better than Kenny Omega. Which means that if you rather have a promo than match Roman maybe your guy. But if you just want the bell to bell performance Kenny Omega is the one to watch.
