Darby Allin failed to get the win over MJF at Full Gear, but he’s not been broken mentally like MJF hoped. On the contrary, Allin is seeking to continue to push himselvesin every way. This has led him to tonight, when he takes on literally his biggest challenge in AEW to date. Billy Gunn is a large man, and one with decades of in-ring experience. Usually he seeks to pass experience on towards Colton or Austin Gunn, but tonight The Patriach of Gunn Family could tke down Allin once and for all.

Darby Allin Gives A Classic Underdog Performance

Billy Gunn lowkey has one of the best records in AEW history, 46 wins to just 6 losses. He mainly works trios, but impressive all the same. Gunn would easily power Allin up to the top rope, before playing into the crowds Mr. Ass chants. Allin tried to lock up with Gunn, and was easily thrown aside. Instead, he’d try to use his speed to take Gunn down, before being launched into the stratosphere with a back body drop.

Allin fled to the outside, where Gunn followed and again just threw him around. Sting would give Gunn some pause, but even that wasn’t enough time for Allin to recover. Gunn ragdolled Allin as he yanked him to the outside and chucked him back in. Allin would hit a dropkick and look for a low dive, but Gunn side stepped and Allin nailed the barricade.

Gunn got a drink while Allin was down and out, before going back to the ribs of Allin by crushing him against the apron. This one was seemingly a total mismatch, just the destruction of Allin… but the crowd was behind him. The chants were getting louder and louder, before he blocked a Superplex attempt with a bite to the ear. Coming off the top rope, he went backwards into Austin & Colton, before getting tossed aside by Gunn.

Gunn would call for a Stinger Splash and miss, before staggering off a stunner from Allin before being hit with Code Red. Finally a Coffin Drop landed, and Gunn kicked out at ONE! A second one would land, and extinguish the fighting spirit of Gunn for the win. Colton & Austin tried to attack Sting and got chucked to the outside. Billy would get revenge, and leave Sting lying alongside Allin. Gunn Club lost the battle, not the war.

Only One Can Move Forward In The TBS Champ, And Jade Cargill Looks Unstoppable

Jade Cargill & Red Velvet might just need to settle with the facts that their careers are intertwined. They made their Dynamite debuts against each other back when Cody Rhodes was randomly feuding with Shaq, and have crossed paths many times since then. Tonight has the highest stakes yet however, as only one of these powerful ladies can move forward in the TBS Championship Tournament.

This one kicked off fast with a brawl, until Velvet was overpowered. Jade tried to take her out with a pump kick and missed, but nearly caught her with a powerbomb. Velvet slipped free and nailed a big kick before being caught with a massive fallaway slam. She’d stomp on Velvet while she was down, before a spin out facebuster.

Velvet slipped out of a body slam and sent Jade outside, but failed to hit a dive to the outside. Jade nailed a chokeslam onto the apron, as we went to a quick commercial break. Back from said break, Jade was still in control. Her power was too much, and took time to go for some pushups because she can. This was ill advised, as Velvet took advantage with a wheelbarrow bulldog. Jade jumped over a spear attempt and nailed a KO level Pump Kick. Jaded would put this one away, but Velvet countered into a backslide for two. Velvet nailed the spear for a two count, but Final Slice was dodged and Jaded landed for the win.

Velvet & Jade Cargill are perfecting their David vs. Goliath matches every time they meet, and each time you see just how far they’ve come. Things are always kept simple with them, which allows them to play to their strengths. Jade flaunts power and size, Velvet speed and strikes. Once again, power wins. Match Rating: 2.75/5 (** 3/4)

Jade Cargill will now face the winner of Thunder Rosa vs. Jaime Hayter. Can anyone stop Jade? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
