Rey Fenix has some visa issues to sort out, so FTR have to take a rain check on the two out of three falls match against The Lucha Bros. However, PAC was ready to step up so tonight still has a tag team epic to look forward to, as two thirds of Death Triangle take on FTR in a match with one fall to a finish. PAC has one good eye after taking mist to the eyes from Malakai Black, but that just has the bastard pissed off.
FTR Wrestle Their Type Of Match
Penta El Zero Miedo would start with Cash Wheeler, feeling each other out before Penta went for the spinning toe hold. Wheeler would get the ropes, and Penta tossed his glove to Alex at ringside before nailing on a kick on Wheeler and tagging in PAC. PAC & Penta hit tandem dropkicks, before Wheeler went outside. FTR asked for a time out, and PAC allowed it – not getting baited into a three on one situation.
Harwood & PAC went at it next, with PAC taking Harwood down with a hip toss before a scoop slam in the middle of the ring. Back body drop would follow, and Penta got the tag and hit a dropkick to the tailbone from the top rope – with Wheeler breaking the pin attempt up. He’d yank Penta to the FTR corner for some double team offense, showing why they’re Top Guys.
A hard kick to the spine would punish Penta, before a double team leg drop for a two count. Penta took advantage of a miscue from FTR to get the tag to PAC, and Harwood was cut down within seconds. PAC would suffer from his 50% vision issue, and lose balance on the ropes. FTR followed up with a beatdown and some slick double team work.
Harwood would be rolled up for about a 10 count, but Wheeler had the referee distracted – and by the time the referee caught up Harwood figured out how to break free. PAC suffered an abdominal stretch with Wheeler adding extra leverage, before a tag was made. Wheeler applied Cobra Clutch in the middle of the ring, but PAC was able to send Wheeler to the outside.
Death Triangle Find Their Footing, Malakai Black Strikes
Harwood went to the floor and threw Wheeler in place for the tag, and the isolation of PAC would continue. An enziguri would get the chance as Wheeler yanked Penta off the ropes. Penta went for revenge, but was stopped by the referee as FTR nailed a backbreaker & elbow drop combo on PAC – but the illegal man made the pin, which was all that kept this one going.
Harwood set up a superplex, but PAC fought free and nailed the shotgun dropkick from the top. Wheeler got the tag first, but PAC wouldn’t be denied again. Penta came in with slingblades and chops aplenty, before using a cazadora on Wheeler to launch into a DDT on Harwood. Wheeler was flapjacked into the corner before taking a gamiguri and diving crossbody for two.
A massive backstabber got another two count, before setting up the Package Piledriver. Wheeler countered out, and nailed a powerslam before another assisted leg drop for a two count. PAC nailed a thrust kick on Wheeler before Penta hit a corkscrew Code Red on Harwood for a two count.Wheeler stopped Fear Factor from landing, but PAC was legal and went for the crossbody before it was rolled into a pinfall. PAC would then take a Tiger Driver, and somehow be kicked out at two! Blanchard tried to distract the referee, but had Harwood thrown into him.
Wheeler hit a spinning DDT on Penta on the floor, and Harwood was thrown to the pile before PAC went high for a moonsault onto both members of FTR. Malakai Black emerged and sprayed the other eye of PAC, and Harwood got the roll up win!
Match Rating: 4/5 (****)
After the match, Penta was unmasked by FTR – a massive sign of disrespect from the AAA Tag Team Champions. Malakai Black would gouge the eye of PAC after the match, doing some lasting damage. Will FTR get their shot at Lucha Bros soon? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
