It seems things have gone beyond a simple sit down and talk phase for Mustafa Ali and the WWE, though it’s always possible.
Following the WWE reportedly denying or ignoring Ali’s release request, fans have taken up the banner on social media by using the hashtag #FreeAli.
It appears it may have led to some of Ali’s fans getting blocked by WWE on FOX’s Twitter account.

Getting gritty
The WWE is resistant to releasing Ali after they dropped 81 wrestlers in 2021, and it could be anything from not wanting releasing people to become a habit (too late?) to Vince McMahon seeing the extraordinary potential Ali has.
Following an alleged argument with Vince McMahon backstage, Ali stated that he has a message he hoped to convey through wrestling, but he wasn’t able to in the WWE and fans have shown their support.
So, when he found out they were being blocked by the official WWE on FOX account, he responded by blocking said account and said:
“Oh, word? don’t worry, i gotchu.”
Words of encouragement
Kofi Kingston did an interview with CBS Sports’ Shakiel Mahjouri, and the topic of Ali’s release came up.
Special thanks to ewrestlingnews.com for the following transcript.
“It’s kind of crazy because it’s a really complicated industry. I feel for him. I feel for him because I understand the frustrations he’s going through and I feel like somebody who is so incredibly talented should always be afforded the opportunity to shine. He hasn’t really necessarily been given that. That is one of the most unfortunate natures of our industry. I don’t know how to change that. It’s been like that for quite some time.
“I guess we’ll see where it all goes. I’m a firm believer in everything happening for a reason and when it’s all said and done, he will have grown from this whole experience, for sure. I don’t know where it’s going to end. I don’t know where it’s going to go, but he’ll always have my support in terms of my desire to want to see him do well because he is so incredibly talented, not just in the ring, but outside the ring too. As a person, someone who wants to have a major impact on the world. I’m hoping that he’s able to find some peace in the situation and when all the cards fall..he’s going to be fine regardless, but I hope he’s able to find happiness at the end of it when it’s all said and done with the light at the end of the tunnel. Regardless of what happens, there are going to be big things for him and his future.”
It’s not a surprise that Kofi would offer thoughtful encouragement while avoiding the issue as it could come back on him in the future.
He’s a supportive and gifted individual and it’s good that he’s supportive for a fellow wrestler and their future. However this turns out, we have no doubt Ali will have an awesome career by the time it’s over.
