We see a segment called the Bubbly Bunch, featuring the Inner Circle. We see a phone call between Santana and Ortiz running down the Young Bucks. They argue over who is the “Carlos” of the group. They suggest that they’re jacking Sammy Guevara’s style. Guevara is also on the call and agrees, calls out Matt Hardy for trying to suggest he’s a fake latino. Says he must be Version S for Version Stupido. Starts counting very badly in Spanish as he pounds a punching bag. Jake Hager is on the call too of course and says he’d choke out Kenny Omega and the entire Elite. Claims he’ll kick the shit out of Jon Moxley whilst his kids cover their ears.
Finally we see Chris Jericho also in on this group chat and he talks up how Hager will destroy Moxley’s fat head, makes a comment on how sexy Sammy Guevara is. Sammy agrees that he is ‘muay sexy’. As Jericho speaks he pours way too much orange juice into a glass and lets it overflow. We get a cut of THE HOUNDS who are all just sitting there watching Chris. He ends the call and then yells in the phone at someone else, desperate to get more toilet paper. Lot of quick cheap laughs there. This all transitions to Sammy Guevara taking on Sugar Dunkerton.
Sammy Guevara vs. Sugar Dunkerton
Sammy and Suge lock up, side headlock takedown, Guevara flexes! Keeps him held in that headlock, Suge trying to free himself by bouncing off the rope. Gets out with a wristlock, does a little dance and gets Sammy’s arms moving along with him like a current is flowing through them. Sugar with a dropkick, starts dancing until Sammy takes him down with a charging high knee to the face! Slides out of the ring and gets Suge trapped in the ropes, like a tree of woe, roundhouse kick to the back. Gets him back into the ring, Delayed Vertical Suplex! Chokes him against the middle ropes, kicks the rope up into his throat! Body shots, gets him up onto his shoulders for a Fireman’s Carry, does some squats as he keeps him held, Samoan Drop! Covers for 2 but then he breaks his own cover, his tongue sticking out.
Kick to the face, drapes Dunkerton against the ropes. Big knife edge chop! Suge keeping low to avoid the Irish Whip, inside cradle for a quick 2 count but Sammy responds with a mighty lariat! Flexes as he puts a foot on Suge’s chest for the Jericho cover, 2 count of course. Whips him to the corner, SUge evades the charge. Suge ducks a shot and Sammy punches the buckle! Suge fighting back with a shoulder tackle to the gut, european uppercut, going for a Saito Suplex but Sammy escapes, wicked Running High Knee, seemed to nail him in the ear with it! Torture Rack GTS for the victory!
Winner: Sammy Guevara
A little more competitive than I would’ve figured but Sammy gets the win. Takes up a microphone and wants to go ahead and spoil what happened in the first round of the TNT Championship Tournament. Says the spoiler is Sammy Guevara beats the shit out of Darby Allin. The workers in the crowd boo him. Calls Darby a face-painted weirdo and says he’ll give us a preview of how he’ll beat the hell out of him. Sammy grabs the wrists of Suge and stomps his face repeatedly until Darby makes his way out to chase him off! Allin checks on Dunkerton as he dares Sammy to get back in the ring.
John McCarthy also thinks Jake Hager will be the AEW World Champion tonight, continuing the pattern. Excalibur is of course backing Mox.
