With 8 men in the tournament for the new championship in All Elite Wrestling, the TNT Championship, everyone has overlooked Superbad Kip Sabian. Sabian is a man who is untested in AEW, never really having any major matches or moments outside of a feud with Joey Janela on AEW Dark. He was in the first ever singles match in AEW, where he faced Sammy Guevara. Since then, he has been used as an undercard talent for this tournament. Will this be his breakout moment in AEW? Could we all be overlooking the future TNT Champion?
Low Profile Means A Hard Wrestler To Scout
In the first round, Kip Sabian will face Dustin Rhodes, the most veteran talent in all of AEW. Because of this, there is days or even weeks of footage to study on Dustin Rhodes. Kip Sabian is the opposite, as before joining AEW he was an unknown talent. This makes it hard to study him as an opponent, and unpredictable as a result. The match that shows the most of his ability is his Dark match with Kenny Omega, but who knows if that was even his his max ability.
Kip Sabian Has Penelope Ford In His Corner
A good manager can make all the difference, and Penelope Ford is exactly that. One of the rising women of AEW, Ford has beaten AEW Champion Riho, and is known for getting physical in matches. If the referee isn’t looking, and she has an opening she will take it. From distractions to offense, she could make all the difference for Kip as this tournament.
A Way To Show This Tournament Is For Unestablished Stars
AEW already has a top prize for stars, while the TNT Championship could be used to build up someone like Kip Sabian. With this tournament set to end at a PPV, this would make it easy to get someone like Kip on the card. While a finals of Archer vs. Cody would make for an easy way get interest in the title, that is a match that doesn’t need a championship. Something like Kip Sabian vs. Darby Allin though, that could definetly be something interesting.
Do you think the underdog Kip Sabian could be the one to make it all the way to the new TNT Championship? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
