We are on the verge of what might end up being another incredibly violent match in AEW’s short history. Seven weeks ago, Mr. Brodie Lee ended the TNT Championship reign of Cody Rhodes in mere minutes, and decimated the rest of The Nightmare Family in the process. Now, Rhodes is back, showing up again after Brodie Lee defeated and looked to brutalize Orange Cassidy after a defense of the TNT Championship.
Mr. Brodie Lee knows that Rhodes is coming back for his title, and wants to get ahead of the curve. He’d lay down a challenge for a dog collar match, but is Rhodes brave enough to be chained to a monster like Mr. Brodie Lee?
Cody Rhodes Speaks For The First Time In Weeks
Cody Rhodes would make his way to the ring, and would be joined by Dasha for an interview. She’d ask how he’s feeling. Cody would go on to say that you’ll always wrestle hurt, just never wrestle injured. But what if the injury isn’t physical? What if it’s in your heart. The shame of losing, combined with jumping at a Hollywood call? He was hanging out with a Hollywood level crew, and he’s just the guy who lost in three minutes.
Rhodes knows he’s not the future of AEW, he’s not the ace. He doesn’t have the gold to prove it. Hikaru Shida, Jon Moxley and Mr. Brodie Lee all have the gold to prove it, and he can only challenge for one of those titles. The challenge is open for one of those championships of course, Rhodes just needs to say the words.
Rhodes vs. Mr. Brodie Lee II Is Set
When asked if he accepted the challenge of Mr. Brodie Lee, he’d say the optics of taking a match like a dog collar match is dangerous. As one of the backstage suits of AEW, he knows the answer to this should be no. It’s not worth shaving years off your career for one match, for a title belt.
However, as a wrestler, the son of Dusty Rhodes, a former TNT Champion. The answer is no. As in no regrets, no looking back, and no way in hell is Mr. Brodie Lee going to remain TNT Champion. Next week on AEW Dynamite, it will be Cody Rhodes vs. Mr. Brodie Lee in a dog collar match, put the kids to bed before that one, it’s not gonna be for the faint of heart.
This would end with a brawl between Lee & Rhodes, and it’s a sign of things to come. Who will leave with the TNT Championship? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
