In one of the most anticipated matches within G1 Climax 30 B Block former NEVER Openweight Champion Kenta faced former IWGP Heavyweight and IWGP Intercontinental ‘Double Champion’ and Bullet Club member Evil.
While competing in the New Japan of America (NJoA) brand within the United States, Kenta made respectful comments regarding Evil who publicly joined Bullet Club after winning New Japan Cup 2020. He would go on to win the ‘Double Championship’ the next day during Dominion.
Kenta offered to ‘Too Sweet’ Evil and his manager Dick Togo, but Evil only offered the Bullet Club salute to Dick Togo, which later drew criticism from fellow Bullet Club member, Tama Tonga on Twitter.

Kenta came in the match after defeating four-time Revolution Pro Wrestling (RevPro) Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion Zack Sabre Jr during G1 Climax 30 Night 6, moving his record to 2-1 in block action. While Evil would lose to Yano, after being unable to deal with his crafty tricks and fall to 1-2.
The match itself was more physical than their G1 Climax 29 encounter, a time before either joined the Bullet Club ranks. Kenta would eventually grow frustrated, and would attack Dick Togo with the New Japan Cup USA 2020 winners briefcase.
However, Evil was able to gain the fall at the 15 minutes and 40 seconds mark by using his EVIL technique. The victory for Evil moves both Bullet Club members to a 2-2 mark in the B Block, providing Evil with a less difficult path to the G1 Climax 30 Finals.
Kenta having secured the V3 challenge of IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion Jon Moxley’s second reign with the championship, Kenta doesn’t have the most pressure on him to win the G1 — yet, he would love another opportunity to become IWGP Heavyweight Champion.
