After the Lumberjack match for the TNT Championship last week, all hell broke loose as Dark Order swarmed the ring. Cody would find help in Gunn Club, who would later be added to The Nightmare Family. Now, Cody joins them in a six man tag team match, facing down Colt Cabana, John Silver and 10, as Billy main events a major show for the first time in potentially decades.
Gunn Club Make Their Dynamite Debut
Cody Rhodes would start with John Silver, and they’d be equal matches in power, just not height. Silver makes up for it by being insane, but a gutbuster would drop him, as Rhodes tagged in Austin Gunn. The rookie would lose control of Silver, who threw some chops and tried to roll Gunn up. Gunn hit a low dropkick and a running neckbreaker.
Billy would be tagged in, and Silver was very much out-matched in height, but so is most of the AEW roster. Colt Cabana would come in, and be dropped with a shoulder tackle, before hitting the elbow butt and stunning the veteran. Billy would catch Cabana as he soared into him in the corner, and drop him, getting a two count.
Austin would be tagged in, but Cabana took control and tagged in 10. 10 took a back body drop, but Silver hit Gunn in the back and allowed his partner to name the spinebuster in the middle of the ring, as we went to a commercial break. Throughout said break, Austin Gunn was isolated by Dark Order and beat down.
Austin Gunn Is The Difference Maker, Cody Rhodes Calls Out Darby Allin
Coming back, Gunn was still isolated, and quick tags would continue. He’d hit the jumping kick, and manage to tag his dad in, who unloaded on everyone in the match. Silver would be dropped with a tilt-a-whirl slam, before going for the Fame Asser on Ten. Cabana tried to save him but got dumped to the outside, and Ten was sent face first into the mat
Silver would save the match, but Rhodes came in and dropped him with a snap powerslam before diving to the outside onto Cabana. Billy was left in the ring and hit with a cutter by 10, getting a close two count. Outside, Rhodes caught Silver and threw him into the crowd.
Austin Gunn came in and hit Cross Rhodes on Cabana, before hitting the Quickdraw neckbreaker on 10, getting his first main event win on Dynamite! Dark Order swarmed the ring, but Orange Cassidy came out and took John Silver down to make things slightly more even.
Rhodes would take the microphone, and address Darby Allin. Allin has claimed TNT doesn’t want him as their champion, he’s too much of an outsider. He’s talented enough for it, Rhodes knows this because he recruited him, he proved how Allin is. But, he can’t beat Rhodes at Full Gear, no matter how much he wants it.
