At AEW: Blood & Guts, only a few segments were done live due to the nature of the show. The Blood & Guts match itself was done live with fans, the interview segment where Darby Allin was tossed down a flight of concrete stairs by Ethan Page & Scorpio Sky, and the two promos with Kenny Omega & Miro. The important one here is that of Darby Allin, who easily took the worst bump of the night.
Darby Allin Claims His Shoulder Is “F*cked”
After being able to make five televised defenses in a row, the TNT Championship reign of Darby Allin is in the worst danger it’s ever been. He was thrown down the stairs by an old rival in Ethan Page and a newer rival in Scorpio Sky, and in typical Darby Allin fashion, it was nasty.
Fans agree this was a more dangerous stunt than Chris Jericho falling on crash pads at the end of the show.To make matters worse, his next match in AEW comes next Wednesday against Miro, who is undefeated in singles action. If Allin can’t make the defense, he has to forfeit the title to Miro.
Allin knows this, and took to Twitter to say the following. “Long story short my shoulder is f*cked but If I got till Wednesday to get my shit together I’ll do just that.”
Time For Miro To Rise Up, Or Will Allin Be Able To Survive Once Again?
With no official injury report on Allin, we have to assume that he will be able to make it to the title defense next week. He’ll likely enter the match in rough shape, and either Miro runs right through him in record time to become the fourth man to hold the TNT Championship, or Allin is able to sneak out a victory to survive.
The only reason for Allin to retain is to have him instead drop the title to either Ethan Page or Scorpio Sky at AEW’s next PPV event Double Or Nothing. Allin has had a great reign, and no doubt he will win more gold in his AEW career, but right now someone like Miro or Page needs that championship exposure more. He won’t look weak in defeat, coming into his final match as champion with many defenses worth of damage and a potentially busted shoulder working against him.
