The well-known Youtuber was taken before his time, as it was confirmed that he passed away at the age of 17. While he was very vocal about the deterioration of his health before his death, the news left the family with more questions than answers. In a post put out on his behalf on Twitter, the family (sister) expressed their mourning over how much they missed him.
The family said: “Hello, as you all might already know, my brother passed away today. He had a very hard operation which lasted 7 hours, but his heart couldn’t take it anymore. He was too weak to survive. Heaven gained another angel, Baby angel. He was my rock, my everything. RIP Alex.”
The star had been praised for the manner he was conducting himself prior to his death. He had been documenting his journey on his Youtube Channel, and it served as an inspiration to those who had suffered from similar problems. The results of this were there for everyone to see.
Just after his death, ‘RIP Alex’ began to trend on Twitter. It went viral, as up to 100,000 people retweeted the hashtag. But beyond the social media clout, his family praised those fans who reached out with their support.
The family added: “Thank you so much to those who supported Alex thru his hospital journey. You all been so amazing! You all kept him going gave him the energy to carry on! All the messages kept his head up.”
The Youtuber was known for his reaction videos to the latest soccer news, and his death got the attention of one of the biggest football stars around. Marcus Rashford, who plies his trade for Manchester United, may be known for his footballing talents. And yet, not much is said about his community activism.
And he thanked Alex for bringing some positivity into so many people’s lives. He remarked: “What an absolute superstar, fought until the very end.” Alex may be gone, but his fans will continue to honour him. And we wish the family the best in trying to overcome this tough period.
