I’m a hardcore wrestling fan, by which I mean I’m a hardcore fan of wrestling... but I also have nothing against hardcore wrestling! I’ve been watching since 2006, back when I was 12 years old. In that time I’ve fervently followed WWE, TNA, ROH, Lucha Underground and others. Today I’m most passionate about NXT, New Japan and especially AEW! You could call me a modern wrestling savant but I know my old school stuff as well... I’ll be your huckleberry all night long.

This past week saw the 180th episode of the famed YouTube series Being The Elite, entitled “This Is Supposed To Be Fun”. While it’s not without the usual comedy bits, it’s definitely got a more sullen tone to it than usual, focusing on Nick Jackson trying to get by without his brother for once, Kenny Omega’s depression and identity crisis becoming less of a joke, and most significantly, Hangman Page officially declaring his leave from the Elite. This was not out of nowhere, as he’s been growing distant from the others ever since losing to Chris Jericho at All Out,…

WWE Superstar Elias has been on the shelf for the past few months, after being out with an ankle injury. He was last competing in early September, defeating Ali in a King of the Ring Quarter-Final bout. However he was then soon pulled from the tournament and has not competed since. Already a member of the SmackDown roster, Elias was re-solidified as part of the blue brand after the WWE Draft. But of course he’s scantly been seen since as he’s been rehabbing his injury. However, earlier today on Twitter he released this video: https://twitter.com/IAmEliasWWE/status/1197560692041289728 It depicts Elias playing a…

Jordan Huie of the Overtimer here to recap another week of AEW Dynamite! Nick Jackson vs. Rey Fenix Bell rings, big ovation for this match happening. Nick with a headlock, shot off, shoulder blocks traded but neither go down. On a second attempt Nick takes Fenix down, but he whips back up and nails a dropkick. Nick escapes a kick to the apron, flips to the floor to avoid an enziguri. They skitter to the floor, repeat their crazy stalemate sequence from the first Bucks/Lucha Bros match, back in the ring to square off to an “AEW” chant. Exchange of…

Jordan Huie of the Overtimer here with the other half of the Wednesday Night War preview! AEW Dynamite brings us a pretty stacked card of five matches, so let’s not waste any time! The Dynamite Dozen Battle Royale A unique concept here. Distinguished from the Casino Royale, I don’t believe we’re getting timed entrances here, everyone’s likely starting in the ring at once. As the name suggests, 12 people will be squaring off, however rather than getting to the last man standing, the match will end when there are only two left. Those two will go on to face each…

It’s Wednesday, meaning it’s time for another preview of what’s sure to be a great night of wrestling action! First up we’re looking at NXT, where even though we only have two matches confirmed, it somehow still looks pretty dang loaded. Let’s get into it! First, a card change. Earlier this week, a triple threat match was announced between Pete Dunne, Killian Dain & Damian Priest. This would be the culmination of an angle that’s been building for some time and the winner of this three way will get a shot at Adam Cole’s NXT Championship at Survivor Series. This…

A fairly story last night that slipped by me revolved around one Jim Cornette, always a controversial figure in pro wrestling for one reason or another. In addition to regularly and quite personally ripping into people whose philosophies about wrestling conflict with his own, he has also come under fire for statements and quotes that come off as homophobic or sexist. Last night, we had another episode of NWA Powerrr premier on YouTube. During the broadcast’s opening match between Nick Aldis and Trevor Murdoch, Cornette put over Murdoch’s toughness with the following quote: “He’s the only guy I know who…

Marquez says he has a question he knows he won’t like, he has to know about Kamille. Everybody talking about it. Aldis says if the internet’s talking about it, it’s definitely at the top of his priorities. Aldis says her actions and decisions are…

Eventually he tosses it aside, to the feet of Orange Cassidy. Cassidy takes it up and…

The National Wrestling Alliance has been pushing itself into a resurgence of late. The 10 Pounds of Gold series was much acclaimed, and NWA Powerrr has been a revelation in putting the genie back in the bottle for pro wrestling. But NWA owner Billy Corgan is showing some ambition, as he still isn’t done introducing new concepts. In a video, Corgan claimed that after the debut of NWA Powerrr, many independent talents have come to them wanting to be a part of the oldschool magic. He wanted to devise a means of giving them an opportunity to show their stuff…
