I’m a hardcore wrestling fan, by which I mean I’m a hardcore fan of wrestling... but I also have nothing against hardcore wrestling! I’ve been watching since 2006, back when I was 12 years old. In that time I’ve fervently followed WWE, TNA, ROH, Lucha Underground and others. Today I’m most passionate about NXT, New Japan and especially AEW! You could call me a modern wrestling savant but I know my old school stuff as well... I’ll be your huckleberry all night long.
AEW Dynamite continues following that shocking debut of FTR. Jon Moxley makes his way out to the announce table. He talks about how he feels like crap after his match with Brodie Lee, hasn’t been able to do much other than sit on his couch since Saturday. Notes how already he has another monster in Brian Cage breathing down his neck. We see some highlights of the Ladder match and Mox marvels at the damage Darby Allin took. Brian Cage vs. Lee Johnson Cage immediately jumps Lee Johnson before the bell, clobbers him into the corner, series of hard clotheslines…
FTR aka The Revival Debut, Save The Bucks, Matt Hardy & Young Bucks def. Joey Janela & Private Party | AEW Dynamite Results (5/27/2020) | All Elite Wrestling
Another episode of AEW Dynamite commences, the follow-up to Double Or Nothing 2020! After a recap we see the Inner Circle licking their wounds backstage. Sammy’s on crutches. Jericho says their egos are bruised, it’s been a rough week but that’s why they’re gonna have the pep rally tonight! They’ll bounce back and recoup their losses from all the Inner Circle Stadium Stampede Winner shirts. Jericho says thankfully it’s only a few boxes but Santana says their buddy Carlos got them a great deal and, turns out there’s a whole truck full of ’em! Jericho facepalms. Fortunately I have a…
Another Wednesday means another episode of Dynamite! As always, you can expect the same live AEW Dynamite results as always, plus links to in-depth recaps of the show! Watch this space! Segment 1: In the opener, Matt Hardy and the Young Bucks took on Joey Janela and Private Party in a trios match. During the match, the Bucks got in an altercation with the Butcher and the Blade, and Marq Quen went down with an injury. Hardy and the Bucks won the match and Matt Hardy helped Quen to the back afterwards. This left the Bucks alone in the ring for…
Another episode of AEW Dynamite comes to us tonight and we have plenty to get into as usual. As seems to be the norm for post-PPV episodes, it’s a little bit of a reset for the company. Not a ton of major stuff compared to past weeks but the slow build to All Out – and a more expedited build to Fyter Fest – begins tonight. With no further adieu, let’s get into the AEW Dynamite Preview! Battle Royal For The First Shot At The TNT Championship Just days ago, Cody was crowned the first-ever TNT Champion after defeating Lance…
Best Friends def. Shawn Dean & Alan Angels | AEW Dark Results (5/26/2020) | All Elite Wrestling
AEW Dark is just about wrapped up now. The main event of the evening features the Best Friends, Chuck Taylor and Trent facing off with two of the more impressive of the guest wrestlers of the past few months, the Captain Shawn Dean and Alan Angels. There’s a slight bit of smoke for the Best Friends’ entrance and that’s apparently enough for a sensory overload for Orange Cassidy. The Best Friends vs. Alan Angels & Shawn Dean Chuck Taylor starts with Shawn Dean. Hammerlock, Dean elbows his way out of it. Hits the ropes, shoulder block and salute. He hits…
AEW Dark rolls on. Kilynn King is out here now, making her debut. I can’t say ‘Kilynn’ is a name I’ve ever heard before but it’s neat. She was evidently trained in part by Billy Gunn and the Dudley Boyz. They talk up how Billy Gunn in particular very highly of her and Taz at one point makes mention of her being a crazy among crazies. She comes out to face off with the Superbad Penelope Ford making her second appearance on tonight’s episode. Kip Sabian is of course at ringside alongside her. Kilynn King vs. Penelope Ford Lock-up, Kilynn…
AEW Dark continues. Colt Cabana comes out here to face off with Lee Johnson. Something that’s been a running theme of this show is that Taz has been going hard about how he really doesn’t like, basically anybody on the AEW roster. He’s been pretty hateful. In this case he got offended that Colt waved to Excalibur but not to him, atleast that’s how he saw it. But then he also railed on Lee Johnson, asking why he was supposed to be all excited for his potential when he’s lost every match he’s had, even one to QT Marshall. It’s…
AEW Dark continues. MJF’s personal bodyguard Wardlow is in action up next, and he’s been in no shortage of impressive squash matches as of late. But interestingly he’s up against another big man in Mr. Grim. I feel like I’ve seen him around on Twitter before, like he’s someone people in AEW know very well and have been supporting. I think he applied for the #SearchForSpears in fact. Wardlow comes out with MJF by his side. Wardlow vs. Mr. Grim Wardlow skips the lock-up and just hoists him up to plant him in the center of the ring! Meanwhile MJF…
Jimmy Havoc & Kip Sabian def. Faboo Andre & Tony Donati | AEW Dark Results (5/26/2020) | All Elite Wrestling
AEW Dark rolls on as a fairly unique team of Tony Donati and Faboo Andre go up against the budding tandem of Kip Sabian and Jimmy Havoc. Kip seems to hurt himself trying to take off Jimmy’s spiked jacket. Jimmy Havoc & Kip Sabian vs. Tony Dontai & Faboo Andre Jimmy rushes in to clothesline both men before the bell. Havoc takes Andre into the corner, big knife edge chop. Bites his neck! Elbow right to the face takes him down to the mat. Tags Sabian in, Andre surprises him with a dropkick and Havoc tags himself right back in…
Joey Janela & Sonny Kiss def. John Skyler & Brady Pierce | AEW Dark Results (5/26/2020) | All Elite Wrestling
AEW Dark rolls on. John Skyler and Brady Pierce are out here to face off with the New Jersey connection of Sonny Kiss and Joey Janela. I thought the name John Skyler sounded familiar and was surprised to see it was his AEW debut. After looking into it he’s quite the veteran, he’s worked for EVOLVE and has had try-outs with ROH, Impact, WWE on several occasions. Basically been on the radar of top promotions for a long time but never quite got signed. His partner Pierce meanwhile kinda resembles Curtis Axel in the face. Meanwhile Janela’s hair is all…
