Bully Ray (better known as Bubba Ray Dudley) has been a figure who has gotten very mixed reactions as of late from wrestling fans. His loud mouth on social media & radio combined with his poor performances in the ring & behind the scenes at Ring Of Honor. Despite this, he is still a major name in wrestling with a storied legacy. He was also a big name in Impact Wrestling, being a former Impact Champion (then the TNA World Heavyweight Champion), a belt which he held for a combined 196 days. With Impact planning a TNA throwback show, Bully Ray is trying to get involved.
Bully Ray Is Knocking On Sami Callihans Door
Sami Callihan was the Impact Champion up until his loss to Tessa Blanchard. Being another loud mouthed brawler with an affinity for hardcore matches, he could draw comparisons to Bully Ray. This is something that Bully has noticed, and in a reply to the tweet announcing tickets are going on sale for ‘TNA: There’s No Place Like Home‘, he decided to mention Sami Callihan.
This brought upon an expected mixed reaction. These ranged from “Yes please” to “No please dont Come back stay at roh.” One option is a revival of the Aces & Eights stable to face off with Sami Callihan & Ohio Versus Everyone. That would be better than seeing Bully Ray stumble his way through a singles match, and it could be a chaotic multi-man hardcore affair. He could try to drag his longtime partner D’von Dudley out of retirement to reform Team 3D, but with D’Von working backstage at WWE as a producer that would be unlikely.
Heel vs. Heel Action
Bully Ray & Sami Callihan are arguably two of the best heels that Impact Wrestling ever had. Both are experts at ensuring they became as unlikable as possible, and could get the person facing them cheered. But with them clashing, you can imagine that Sami Callihan would be the fan favorite, having been working hard to rebuild Impact Wrestling into what it is today. He can work as a babyface, but he would certainly have the edge to him and wouldn’t be afraid to cheat and beat his veteran opponent.
