New Beginning In Osaka continues, with Jon Moxley defending his US title against Minoru Suzuki in a dream match! There’s a gigantic pop for this match graphic coming up, which is quite a good sign I think. And Suzuki has an absolutely deafening Kaze Ni Nare on his way into the ring!
IWGP United States Championship: Jon Moxley (c) vs. Minoru Suzuki
Mox makes his way out of the crowd, puts his title and jacket in the ring but then he walks up the ramp! He dares Suzuki to meet him out there! Suzuki goes out, grabs two steel chairs and pursues with a gleeful, terrifying smile on his face! He throws Mox a chair and raises his own! A chair battle commences! Mox wins out, knocking the chair from Suzuki’s hand and a brawl commences! Moxley sends Suzuki into the barrier, takes it up and throws it onto him! The bell randomly rings as Suzuki takes control and tosses Mox onto the floor. Throws the barrier onto him and buries him under a chair as well.
Suzuki pulls Moxley over towards the announcer’s table but he counters, driving him onto the table! He takes Suzuki to his feet on that little table… he wants the Cradle Piledriver to counter but Mox escapes, sends him off the table for a flying double axe handle! As the 20 count commences, the two lock eyes right outside the ring and roll in together! Exchange of forearms now. They’re each all too happy to receive the other’s blows. Suzuki with a hard one! Mox sends punches instead. Suzuki lays in an elbow! Brutal shots! Whips him to the opposite corner, charging big boot, snapmare, wants the PK but Mox catches! Stands up and bites into his forehead! Gets a couple of elbows in but Suzuki fights back, couple of headbutts and now he’s biting the forehead too! Moxley deposits him and pursues.
Takes him to the announce table again and bounces his face off of it. Mox chokes him against the floor but Suzuki with a sudden Cross Armbreaker! Moxley escapes, turns it into a Single Leg Boston Crab. Moxley drives him into the barrier, just a brawl from start to finish here. Suzuki no sells being tossed into the barrier again and another exchange commences. Suzuki slams him onto the barrier and chokes him against the steel. Slaps to the head, Moxley with a snapmare, bounces off the barrier for a sliding lariat! Mox has lost the padding over his eye… takes out a table and sets it up! Pulls Suzuki over towards it but Suzuki drives a chair into his ribs, Inverted Sleeper onto the table!
Suzuki grabs two steel chairs, wraps Mox’s arm in one and nails it with the other one!
Mox is stunned by the pain! Suzuki drives his arm against the apron, slips onto it for a crossbreaker! Hooking the legs around the head as well! Moxley pulls him off, turns around and powerbombs him hard through the table!! The shot of Suzuki after that is so terrifying, smiling madly as the lighting hits him just right… Suzuki stumbles to his feet holding part of the shattered table and he slams it against his head! Mox rolls into the ring and does the same with the wood! Mox elbows Suzuki with the bum arm and is reeling from it! Suzuki responds with truly devastating ones, good God. Suzuki just shakes his head as Moxley tries to return.
So he sends a series of them his way, Suzuki cackles and lays in another! Moxley hits him as hard as he can and Suzuki staggers! Exchange commences! Moxley with a long volley into a headbutt! Hits the ropes, Suzuki pursues, zips around him for the sleeper! Puts him on the mat, his head is turning red. He’s very believably fading to sleep here… Suzuki covers for a nearfall! Hits the ropes for a charging kick to the face for another 2 count! Suzuki pulls him up for several wicked shots, but Mox surprises him with a pump knee! Charging knee to the face for the nearfall! Wants the Paradigm Shift, Suzuki escapes for a forearm, Mox shouts “F*ck you!” and responds, hits the ropes – Suzuki with a sudden standing dropkick!
Wants the piledriver, Mox reverses into the Death Rider! But Suzuki kicks out!!
He’s the first to kick out of the true Death Rider/Paradigm Shift, that one had the lift and spike! Moxley grabs up two chairs and just like the beginning, tosses one to Suzuki! He won’t take it though… ref gets shoved away, Jon Moxley DESTROYS the chair over Suzuki’s head! Suzuki smiles though! Mox wants the Paradigm Shift, Suzuki tries to reverse it into the Piledriver but Mox with the Double Arm DDT right onto a chair!! Mox wants a flurry, Suzuki has to take a moment to prepare himself. But there’s the series of thrusts and palm strikes! Mox demands more and gets them! Huge lariat, Suzuki has to will himself into staying upright! Another charging clothesline takes him down! Pulls him off the mat for a Paradigm Shift and that finally puts him down!
Winner: Jon Moxley
Hail to the king… that’s the kinda match he can retire on, man. Suzuki looks catatonic but still grinning, like he just had the time of his life. What a wild fight.
Afterwards, in comes Suzuki’s stable mat Zack Sabre Jr to jump Mox! He puts him in a sleeper/bodyscissor! Finally puts him out and makes his leave, a statement made. Mox finds himself unknowingly attacking a stagehand who tries to help him up, he’s in too much of a daze to even know where he is.
