The tour finale of New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) Showdown took place on Friday during New Japan Strong. The marquee match saw former NEVER Openweight Champion, New Japan Cup 2020 winner, and Bullet Club member Kenta defend the right to make the V3 challenge of IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion Jon Moxley’s second reign with the title against David Finlay.

The marquee event of the New Japan Showdown 2020 Night 2 event and the tour finale sees former NEVER Openweight Champion, New Japan Cup USA 2020, and Bullet Club member Kenta defend his right to make the V3 challenge of Jon Moxley’s second reign with the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship against David Finlay.

The marquee tournament match of the event saw reigning IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions and Suzuki-Gun members Dangerous Tekkers (Zack Sabre Jr/Taichi) take on HenarACE (Hiroshi Tanahashi/Toa Henare). HenarACE was coming off being blitzed by the Empire team of Jeff Cobb/Great-O-Kharn on the opening day of the tournament, thrown off by Cobb being O-Kharn’s mystery partner.

The headline tournament match of the event saw former IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions and CHAOS members “Stone Pitbull” one-third of the reigning NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Champions Tomohiro Ishii and Toru Yano face the Los Ingobernables de Japon (LIJ) team of Sanada and reigning NEVER Openweight Champion “The Dragon” Shingo Takagi.

The third tournament match of the event saw former IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champion FinJuice (Juice Robinson/David Finlay) against the Bullet Club tandem “King of Darkness” Evil and “Tokyo Pimps” Yujiro who was accompanied by manager “The Spoiler” Dick Togo.

The second tournament match of the event saw the CHAOS team of two-thirds of the reigning NEVER Openweight 6-Man Champions Hirooki Goto/Yoshi-Hashi attempt to pick up their first points of the tournament against the Empire team of Jeff Cobb/Great-O-Khan.

The first tournament match of the event saw a battle between two Bullet Club teams. The former six-time IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions and two-thirds of three NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Champion teams Guerillas of Destiny (Tama Tonga/Tanga Loa) [Guerillas of Destiny] took on the duo of “Rogue General” Bad Luck Fale/”Crown Jewel” Chase Owens.

On November 19th, officials from New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) and parent company Bushiroad led a contingent of Professional Wrestling and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) based in Japan during a meeting with representatives from the Japanese House of Representatives (lower house of a national bicameral legislature).
